Collection: TECHNICS

Technics stands for Japanese precision – it became famous with the direct-drive turntable SL-1200, and today offers a complete high-end line from amplifiers to network players. With us, from the legendary turntable to the reference class – with advice, setup and service straight from Lake Zurich.

Limited Edition · Master Edition

The last SL-1200G generation, limited worldwide: with the SL-1200GME (silver) and the SL-1210GME (black), Technics ends the SL-1200G lineup after more than 50 years – the regular SL-1200GR2 continues independently of this. We managed to secure part of the last worldwide run, while our stock lasts.

The Technics range with us

  • Turntables – the direct-drive SL-1200/1210 series, from the DJ classic to the audiophile G version.
  • Amplifiers & network – integrated and network amplifiers from the SU series, plus network players.

Technics authorised dealer since 2015

When the Swiss distributor asked in 2015 whether we wanted to become the Technics authorised dealer for the Lake Zurich region, we didn't need to think twice: Andy saved up for two years as an apprentice for his first Technics system – and kept it for over 30 years. The trade magazine AUDIO SWISS visited us for that reason in its “Swiss Top Dealer” feature:

“You could also say: Technics 'runs' at HD Zürisee.”

“'In terms of engineering, build quality and sound, these things are unique. You won't find that elsewhere in their price classes,' raves the likeable dealer, who has been a Technics fan since his early youth.”

Honestly

The SL-1200 is rightly an icon – robust, value-stable, a turntable for life. The high-end line (SU/SL-G/Reference) is a real investment and competes at the top sonically, but costs accordingly. If you're after a cheap entry-level turntable, look elsewhere; if you want quality craftsmanship and longevity, it's Technics.

Frequently asked questions about Technics

Which SL-1200 is the right one?

From the MK7 for a robust entry point to the GR/G version with audiophile ambitions. Tell us your budget and system, and we'll narrow it down – and set it up fully adjusted.

Is the SL-1200 only for DJs?

No. The direct drive and robustness also make it a reliable hi-fi turntable for the living room. The G versions are clearly designed with audiophile intent.

What do I get from buying at the Technics authorised dealer?

We've known these units for years, set up your turntable fully adjusted – tonearm, tracking force, anti-skating – and advise you on the right combination of cartridge, amplifier and speakers. In case of service, you're in the right place with us instead of in a hotline queue. A demo is possible on request, as long as the unit happens to be set up: give us a quick call or message, and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
