The Technics SC-C70MK2 is a compact system that combines a CD drive, network streaming, DAB+ radio and an active 2.1 speaker system in one aluminium housing.
In short: the complete system without separate speakers, without cable clutter – unpack, set up, music. And thanks to MK2, now with automatic room calibration.
Why the SC-C70MK2?
Because it packs high-end technology into a single unit that still only needs one power socket. Three JENO Engines amplify fully digitally, LAPC aligns the phase of the built-in speakers, and acoustic lenses in front of the silk-dome tweeters open up the soundstage wider than you'd expect from such a compact housing. The MK2 upgrade brings AirPlay 2, Chromecast and multiroom, Deezer, nine favourite buttons instead of five – and above all Space Tune Auto: a built-in microphone measures your room in seconds.
What you get
Full-fledged stereo sound with real bass foundation from the 12 cm subwoofer – not a boombox, but a serious main system. The auto calibration is a blessing for Swiss living rooms full of glass, stone and parquet: it tames boomy bass when the unit sits on a shelf or against a wall. You switch between CD, radio and streaming at the touch of a button. Available in black and silver.
Who is the SC-C70MK2 suited to? (and who it isn't – plain talk)
Plain talk: The SC-C70MK2 is for anyone who wants a high-quality complete system with CD, radio and streaming – without separate speakers, amplifier and cables. The glass top-loader needs clearance above it, so don't squeeze it into too tight a shelf compartment or the CD lid won't open. If you want to connect your own speakers, the SA-C600 receiver is the right choice. But if you're after a finished, elegant system for one room, this is one of the finest you'll find.
Our verdict
The SC-C70MK2 proves that all-in-one doesn't have to mean compromise. Build quality, sound and operation are all of a piece. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll show you placement and Space Tune calibration and advise you on whether a single system or a multiroom group suits your home.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need extra speakers for the SC-C70MK2?
No. The active 2.1 speaker system with two tweeters, two woofers and one subwoofer is already built in. You set up the unit, connect it to the network and listen – without separate speakers, amplifier or speaker cables.
What's improved compared to the old SC-C70?
Quite a bit: AirPlay 2 and Chromecast (so multiroom), Deezer has been added, the favourite buttons were expanded from five to nine, and Space Tune now measures the room fully automatically via a built-in microphone. It's also now available fully in black.
Can I connect a turntable?
Yes, via the AUX input – provided the turntable has a built-in phono stage (like the Technics SL-1500C or SL-40CBT). The SC-C70MK2 doesn't have its own phono stage. We'll tell you which turntable connects directly.
Why buy the SC-C70MK2 from HD Zürisee?
Because a complete system lives or dies by the right placement. We'll show you the Space Tune calibration, clarify multiroom with other Technics devices and deliver it ready to go. Questions? Call us (+41 44 680 22 00), send an email or a WhatsApp – we'll advise you without any fuss.
Goes well with
For vinyl, add a turntable with a built-in phono stage – it runs via the AUX input – plus a matching phono cable. The SC-C70MK2 already has everything else on board.
