Is a cartridge included with the SL-1210G?
No, the Grand Class turntable is supplied without a cartridge – deliberately, so you can choose the system freely. The detachable headshell makes mounting and later swaps easy. We're happy to work out with you which MM or MC cartridge is the ideal sonic and mechanical match.

Do I need a phono preamp for the SL-1210G?
Yes. The turntable outputs the raw cartridge signal. So you need an amplifier with a phono input or a separate phono preamp. It sounds more involved than it is – we'll show you suitable solutions for any budget.

Isn't this a DJ turntable?
The silhouette comes from the legendary SL-1200, but the Grand Class turntable is a pure hi-fi deck: a heavier platter, a more elaborate motor, a higher-quality tonearm. It can take a beating, but it's built for audiophile listening, not for scratching in a club.
