Home Cinema

Home cinema electronics process picture and sound sources, decode surround formats like Dolby Atmos and amplify multiple channels at once – turning a TV, projector and speakers into a real cinema experience in your living room.

Three device types make up this category: AV receivers with built-in power amps for all channels – the uncomplicated all-in-one solution; AV preamplifiers without their own power amp for anyone wanting a higher channel count or more power via separate power amps; and multi-channel power amps, which deliver exactly that power. From Yamaha's compact entry-level models to Anthem's reference processors with ARC Genesis room correction, we carry devices for practically every room size and budget.

Honestly, the preamp-plus-power-amps solution only pays off from a certain room size and set of demands upward – for most living rooms a good AV receiver is entirely sufficient, and it's fine to say so instead of reaching straight for the biggest rack.

Which channel count, which room correction and which speakers suit your room is a question best settled in conversation – get in touch with HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we'll help with the selection and with on-site calibration. Matching speaker combinations are also available ready-assembled in our Hi-Fi sets, complementary accessories separately, and streaming-capable alternatives among the streaming amplifiers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an AV receiver, or is an AV preamplifier with external power amps enough?
An AV receiver is entirely sufficient for most living rooms. Preamplifier plus separate power amps only pay off for large rooms, high channel counts or elevated sound demands.

What does room correction like ARC Genesis or Dirac get you?
It measures your room via microphone and matches the frequency response and timing of the channels to the acoustics – audibly cleaner, especially in irregularly shaped rooms.

Why buy home cinema electronics from HD Zürisee?
We configure and calibrate your system on site if needed, instead of just selling it to you. Call or write to us, and we'll talk about your room.
