Collection: All Power Products

Power optimization covers all the components that supply your HiFi system with clean, stable energy: mains filters and power conditioners, power supplies, and high-quality power cables.

Why clean power?

Every amplifier, streamer and DAC is only as good as the power it draws its energy from. The household mains is full of interference – from switch-mode power supplies, LED dimmers, chargers, and the neighbours' gear thrown in too. Mains filters and conditioners sift out this noise; the result is often a quieter background, more fine detail and a more stable sound picture. Clean power is the foundation nobody sees and hardly anyone photographs – yet you can hear it.

What you'll find here

From the filtered power strip for starting out to the power regenerator that recreates the sine wave from scratch: here you'll find mains filters, power conditioners and DC blockers (for example from IsoTek and Vincent), linear power supplies as a replacement for noisy plug-in adapters (for example Merason), and power cables from AudioQuest, ViaBlue to IsoTek – all neatly sorted in one place. Which level actually makes a difference in your setup is something we size at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil according to your system, not the price tag.

Who it's for – and straight talk

From the first decent stereo setup to a high-end chain with separate power amplifiers, almost every system benefits from clean power – the more resolving the chain, the more clearly. Honestly: if you invest four figures in amplifier and speakers and plug everything into the same power strip as the vacuum cleaner, you're leaving potential on the table.

Straight talk: Power optimization isn't voodoo, but it's no miracle pill either. The effect depends heavily on your mains and your system. We won't promise you a whole new world, but tell you honestly which level pays off for you – and from what point your money is better spent on the source or the speakers.

Verdict: First get the supply in order, then squeeze the last bit out of cables. A well-chosen power strip with a filter is the most sensible first step for many systems; above that, the scale is open-ended. Tell us what's plugged into your outlet, and we'll find the right solution.

Frequently asked questions

Does power optimization really make an audible difference?

Often yes – how clearly depends on your mains and your system. Typical results are a quieter background, cleaner fine detail and a more stable sound picture. We won't promise a miracle, but give you an honest assessment and, where possible, let you compare for yourself instead of just telling you about it.

Mains filter, power conditioner or regenerator – what's the difference?

A mains filter passively cleans the supply of interference. A power conditioner additionally separates and distributes the outputs in a targeted way. A regenerator like the IsoTek Genesis actively recreates the sine wave. More effort means more effect and a bigger budget – we recommend the level that suits your chain.

Is a filtered power strip enough, or do I need a big unit?

For many setups a good power strip with a filter is enough, for example an IsoTek V5 Polaris or Sirius. Large conditioners and regenerators pay off above all with extensive or very high-resolution chains. Tell us how many components you're powering, and we'll size it appropriately instead of oversizing it.

What does a linear power supply do for my streamer or DAC?

A linear power supply replaces the supplied switch-mode adapter and powers the device with less interference and more calm – audible above all with streamers, DACs and phono stages. The prerequisite is that your device allows an external power supply, as with the Merason pow1, for example. We check the compatibility with you beforehand.

Is a high-quality power cable worth it?

As the final stretch to the component, a good power cable can be audible – what matters is cross-section, shielding and clean connectors. Honestly: get the filter and power strip sorted first, then the cable. We'll tell you on which component the extra spend is most likely to pay off, and where it won't.

Can I test this at home?

Often yes – on request, and where possible, we bring components into your own system for comparison. We can't guarantee this for every single unit, since stock changes, but we usually find a way to let you judge the difference yourself before you decide.

Why buy power optimization from HD Zürisee?

Because we see supply, devices and cables as one system and size it according to your setup, instead of selling you the most expensive part. We give you an honest assessment of what actually helps in your case, have our own technician for the details, and deliver throughout Switzerland – free shipping from CHF 190.
