Streaming Speakers

Streaming speakers are active speakers with a network connection that play music directly from WiFi or the internet and can be controlled via app.

One device, no amplifier tangle, and multiroom on request: the same or different music in every room, controlled from the sofa.

Why streaming speakers?

They connect directly to your network and play Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify, internet radio or your own collection, without additional devices. Anyone who used to think wireless inevitably meant compromise is welcome to listen to the good models. Convenience and clean sound are no longer mutually exclusive today.

What you should keep in mind

What matters is the app, the supported services and a stable WiFi. Brands like Bluesound, JBL or Cabasse show how well this can work. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we work out which system suits your network, your services and your requirements, including an honest assessment of the limits.

Who are streaming speakers for? (Straight talk)

Ideal for anyone who wants music simply via app and across several rooms. Straight talk: if you only occasionally use Bluetooth from your phone, you won't tap the full potential – that works, but it's almost a waste of the device. A streaming speaker unfolds its full appeal with the network and a good service.

Our verdict

Streaming speakers are the simplest way to bring good music into the whole home, without device chains and cable clutter. Tell us which services you use and which rooms you want to fill with sound, and we'll put together the system that fits.

Frequently asked questions

What is multiroom?

Multiroom means several speakers in the same system that you control via app: the same music in every room in sync, or something different everywhere. All without speaker cable running across the home. You expand step by step, room by room, exactly as it suits you.

Do I still need an amplifier or streamer?

No, both are already inside the streaming speaker: amplifier, network receiver and often a good DAC. All you need is a stable WiFi and your favourite music. That's exactly what makes these speakers so uncomplicated – one device instead of a whole chain.

Do I need a paid subscription?

No. Streaming services are an option, not a requirement. Most models also play internet radio, your local music files on the network and Bluetooth, all without a subscription. With services like Qobuz or Tidal you additionally bring hi-res quality into your home, if you like.

Which streaming services run on it?

Depending on the system: Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music and internet radio. Not every device supports every service. Tell us which service you use, and we'll check in advance whether your favourite is included, instead of letting you be surprised after the purchase.

Why buy streaming speakers from HD Zürisee?

Because convenient and audiophile don't have to be a contradiction, but the choice depends on the app, the WiFi and your services. We set the system up cleanly and tell you honestly where convenient ends and HiFi begins. Qobuz Hi-Fi partner since 2018, advice and service from Wädenswil.

If you want to connect classic sources, take a look at the active speakers. For the TV, soundbars are a good fit, you'll also find a separate streamer with us, and the whole selection is in the speaker overview.
