The Blok Stax 2G Module 170 is a build-up level for the modular Blok Stax 2G HiFi rack, with 170 mm of usable height for one component.
Natural ash meets silky-matte satin white here: bright, friendly, understated – the version for living rooms where the system should play along, not dominate.
Why the Module 170?
Because fixed standard spacings are always wrong for some component. With the Stax 2G, you decide the height of each level yourself by combining modules. With 170 mm of usable height, this level covers most of what sits in a typical system: integrated amplifiers, CD players, streamers, DACs with a decent power supply. It goes on the Base Module or between existing levels – you can add to it any time, and rearrange just as easily.
What you get
A 13 mm plywood shelf in natural ash, four supports in satin white, and four M10 screws that connect invisibly into the level below. Silicone isolation pads sit between every level and against the base, decoupling each shelf individually. If you want it even quieter, fill the hollow supports with about 2.2 litres of dry sand each. 40 kg per level is rated – more than most components ever put on the scale.
Who is the Module 170 for?
For you, if you're building a light-coloured Stax 2G from scratch or adding a level to an existing one. Straight talk: the module isn't a stand-alone piece of furniture. Without a Base Module underneath, it has no feet, spikes, or assembly tool. If your component is taller than 17 centimetres – a turntable with a lid, a tube amp with an exposed transformer – a Module 220 or the Module LP belongs there instead. And Blok doesn't recommend more than 1100 mm total height for the stack.
Our verdict
In Ash Natural/Satin White, the Stax 2G disappears pleasantly into bright rooms without looking cheap – and the Module 170 is the level in it you'll need most often. The EISA gave the Stax 2G system the "AV Furniture 2024-2025" award; what we like most is how matter-of-factly the system admits that a rack is, first and foremost, a tool. Frequently asked questions
How tall can a component on the Module 170 be?
170 millimetres, max. That's the clearance between the shelf and the next level above it. For components that run warm, allow a few millimetres of extra room for ventilation, and remember the space that stiff power and RCA cables need at the back.
Can I use the Module 170 on its own?
No, it's a build-up level and belongs on a Base Module or another Stax 2G level. The height-adjustable feet with spikes, the assembly tool and the instructions are part of the Base Module. The Module 170 itself comes with four M10 screws for connecting downward.
How heavy can my component be?
Blok rates each level at 40 kilograms. That covers practically every integrated amp, power amp and turntable in the HiFi world. For extra stability, you can fill the hollow supports with about 2.2 litres of dry sand each; that adds mass to the whole build.
Does the Module 170 fit with the other Stax 2G modules?
Yes, every module in the series shares the same footprint and can be combined freely, and restacked later. It comes in 120, 170 and 220 millimetres of usable height, plus the Module LP for records. Blok recommends a maximum total height of 1100 millimetres.

Goes well with
Nothing works without a base: the Blok Stax 2G Base Module in Ash Natural/Satin White forms the bottom level. From there, combine freely with the Module 120, the Module 220, and the Module LP for records. You'll find the matching electronics under turntables, CD players, integrated amplifiers, and streaming.
