The Blok Stax 2G Module 120 is a build-up level for the modular Stax 2G rack system, providing 120 mm of usable height for flat components.

In this finish, natural ash plywood meets silky-matte white side panels. Bright, quiet, understated – a rack that doesn't stand out as a foreign object in a light-filled living room but simply blends into the wall.

Why the Module 120?

A Stax 2G isn't an off-the-shelf shelf, it's a building-block system. Instead of fixed compartment heights, you choose the level that suits each device – and 120 mm is the lowest of them. For a network player, a converter, or a phono preamp, that's exactly right: the device sits cleanly ventilated, without ten centimetres of clearance going to waste above it. If your system changes, the level changes with it.

What you get

A 13 mm thick plywood level with 480 × 379 mm of usable surface, rated for 40 kg. Decoupling is handled by silicone pads of defined Shore hardness that sit between shelf and supports – Blok belongs to the Monitor Audio Group, and the acoustics department clearly had a say here. If you want it even calmer, take the rubber plugs out of the supports and fill them with around 1.4 litres of inert material per support.

Who is the Module 120 suitable for?

For anyone expanding their Stax 2G or planning it thoroughly from the start. Honestly: on its own, this module is useless – feet, height adjustment, and assembly tools come with the Base Module, without which nothing here stands. And 120 mm is tightly sized: an integrated amplifier with heat sinks or a turntable with a dust cover needs 170, 220, or LP outright. If you measure your device beforehand, you save yourself a second attempt.

Our verdict

Unspectacular – in the best sense. The Module 120 solves a problem most racks don't even acknowledge: that devices simply come in different heights. Ash natural with satin white is the quietest variant in the series here, and the first choice when the furniture shouldn't stand out. Frequently asked questions

Can I fit the Module 120 into an existing rack later?

Yes. You undo the screws above the desired position, insert the Module 120, and screw it in with the four included M10 screws. The footprint is identical across all Stax 2G modules, and the order of the levels is entirely up to you. Set aside a calm half-hour for the change.

How do I know if 120 mm is enough?

Measure your device's total height including feet, and add some clearance for cables and heat. If it stays under around 100 mm, the Module 120 fits comfortably. Above that, go for the Module 170, for tall devices the Module 220, and for turntables with a dust cover the Module LP.

How much does a level withstand?

Blok states 40 kg per level – more than any typical HiFi device weighs. More important than the maximum is the calm in the structure: silicone pads decouple every level, and the supports can be weighted with around 1.4 litres of inert material per support, which further dampens resonance.

What's included in delivery?

Four M10 screws, nothing more is needed. Assembly tool, height adjustment tool, screw caps, and the feet are part of the Base Module and thus already present in your rack. The Module 120 is deliberately designed as a pure add-on, not a standalone piece of furniture. So if you're starting completely fresh, you always begin with the Base Module.

Why buy the Blok Stax 2G Module 120 from HD Zürisee?

Because a rack is more than a parts list. We look at which devices you have, how tall they are, and how many levels genuinely make sense – and we'll also tell you if a different module height would be the better choice. Goes well with

At the very bottom, your structure needs a Base Module with feet and height adjustment; above it, Module 120, Module 170, Module 220, and Module LP can be freely combined – all heights and finishes are in the Blok overview. If you'd rather take a ready-configured rack, you'll find it among the HiFi racks. A 120 level typically suits streamers, D/A converters, or a phono preamplifier.
