Blok Stax 2G Base Module, Ash Natural/Satin White

The Blok Stax 2G Base Module is the base level of the modular Stax 2G HiFi rack system – the module with the height-adjustable feet where every stack begins.

This finish combines a level in natural ash with silky-matte white side supports. Bright, friendly, understated – in a living room with plenty of white and wood, the rack almost disappears instead of dominating the space.

Why start with the Base Module?

Because the Base brings the floor coupling that no other level does. Four feet, individually adjustable in height with the included tool, fitted as spikes or hard-floor pads – so the tower sits just as solidly on carpet as on strip parquet. Everything else is up to you: on top of the Base go the build-up modules of 120, 170, and 220 mm for electronics, or the LP module for records, stacked up to the recommended total height of 1100 mm. A system instead of a finished piece of furniture – if you've ever bought a rack where exactly one level was two centimetres too low, you'll appreciate that.

What you get

A 13 mm plywood level on wide side supports, decoupled via silicone pads whose hardness was defined by the Monitor Audio Group's acoustics department. The supports are hollow inside; take out the rubber plugs and you can fill around 0.7 litres of inert material per support. More mass means less resonance in the furniture – which turntables in particular benefit from. The level is rated for 40 kg.

Who is the Base Module suitable for?

For you, if your setup doesn't fit the standard grid: an unusually tall power amp, a turntable with a dust cover, a record collection that's still growing. Honestly: if you have a classic trio of amplifier, streamer, and turntable, you'll get there faster with the ready-made 3-Shelf collection and won't have to configure anything. You buy the Base individually when you want to plan your rack from the ground up yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Base Module and a build-up module?

The Base Module brings the height-adjustable feet and the bottom level, a build-up module doesn't. The 120, 170, 220, and LP modules sit on the Base and set the gap to the next level. No Stax 2G stands without a Base, and without a build-up module, you're left with a single level.

Can I expand my Stax 2G later?

Yes, at any time. You can add another build-up module even years later, as long as the recommended total height of 1100 mm isn't exceeded. If a new component joins your system, you simply order the module in the right height – just make sure it's the same colour finish.

How tall can a Stax 2G rack get?

Blok recommends a maximum total height of 1100 mm. That corresponds to the Base Module plus around four to five build-up modules, depending on the heights chosen. Below that, the stack stays stable and easy to handle. If you want to build taller, it's better to put up two narrow towers side by side than one wobbly one.

Does a turntable fit on the Base Module?

Yes, the usable surface of 480 × 379 mm accommodates most turntables. What to consider is the height above it: a turntable with a dust cover needs plenty of clearance, so within a Stax 2G it usually gets the top level.
