AudioQuest Perch Headphone Stand

The AudioQuest Perch is a freestanding headphone stand that supports an over-ear headphone on a wide, curved cradle instead of hanging it on a narrow hook. A heavy die-cast zinc base, two slender steel supports, topped with a padded faux-leather shell – that's all it takes.

Why a stand instead of the desktop?

A good headphone lying next to the keyboard collects dust, picks up scratches, and regularly becomes a hazard when you reach for your coffee cup. But the real point is the shape: narrow hooks spread the headband apart over the years, and the padding wears out. The Perch's cradle distributes the weight across the full width of the headband – the headphone hangs the way it otherwise sits on your head.

Do I need to assemble or screw the Perch together?

No, it comes fully assembled out of the box and stands freely on a desk, sideboard or shelf. No clamp, no screw, no tools. The heavy die-cast zinc base ensures, through its weight alone, that nothing tips – even when you take the headphone off with one hand.

Does the stand deform the headband over time?

Preventing exactly that is the whole point. The curved faux-leather cradle supports the headband across its entire width, instead of pushing it apart like a narrow hook. The weight is distributed, and the headband and padding keep their shape. That's the actual reason to buy a stand in the first place.

How much space does the Perch need on the desk?

Roughly seventeen centimeters square footprint at about thirty centimeters in height. That means it fits next to a monitor or on a sideboard without dominating the workspace. Do large and heavy over-ear headphones fit on it too?

Yes, the Perch is designed for full-size over-ear models and accommodates them on the wide cradle.
