The CR-Tech Sound Supports 6540 are decoupling feet with an M8 thread for heavy speakers from roughly 40 kilograms upwards. They're the largest model in the Sound Supports range and are supplied here as a set of 2.
65 mm diameter, 40 mm height, M8 internal thread: noticeably more foundation than the 5035 – and that's exactly the point. The 6540 is developed and made by crTech in Switzerland. It's screwed in place of the original feet or spikes; adapters are available for different thread sizes.
Why the Sound Supports 6540?
The more cone area a speaker moves, and the more mass it has to stabilise while doing it, the more residual energy looks for a way down. If it finds a hard floor, that floor becomes a second, uninvited membrane. The two-stage damping system in the 6540 doesn't let vertical forces through at all and dissipates horizontal ones in a controlled way – at a load capacity the distributor specifies as up to 120 kilograms per foot.
The M8 thread isn't a marginal detail here: you don't hang an 80-kilo speaker on M6. Where the 5035 is made for medium-heavy speakers, that's exactly where the 6540's territory begins.
What you get
The 6540 works most clearly in the deep bass: it becomes more tangible and stops wobbling, because the ground underneath no longer joins in. Above that, the sound picture becomes calmer – large-scale music keeps its order even when it gets loud. The speaker feels less like a piece of furniture that makes music and more like a point in the room the music comes from.
Who are the Sound Supports 6540 suited for – and who aren't they for?
For large, heavy floorstanding speakers with an M8 connection – the class where it takes two people to set them up. On solid floors, screed and tile, the payoff is greatest.
Straight talk: under medium-heavy speakers, the 6540 is simply too much foot – that's what the 5035 is built for, and it's the better fit there. More importantly: one set contains two feet. A speaker with four contact points therefore needs two sets, a pair of speakers accordingly four. Work that out before you order – or let us do it.
Our verdict
The heavyweight of the range, and that's meant literally: 65 mm diameter, M8 thread, load capacity up to 120 kilograms. Under a truly large speaker, this isn't an accessory anymore, it's structural engineering with intent. Only the sales unit needs your attention – a set of 2 is half a speaker's worth. Tell us at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil which speakers you have, and the right quantity is settled before you order.

Frequently asked questions
How many Sound Supports 6540 do I need?
One set contains two feet. A speaker with four contact points therefore needs two sets, a pair of floorstanders accordingly four. With three contact points, it depends on the construction. Tell us your speaker model and we'll work out the quantity before you order.
From what speaker weight does the 6540 make sense?
The manufacturer specifies it for heavy speakers from roughly 40 kilograms, the distributor gives a load capacity of up to 120 kilograms per foot. Below that, the 5035 is enough for medium-heavy speakers. In the borderline range, the floor construction matters more than the datasheet – ask us if in doubt.
What's the difference between the 6540 and the 5035?
Size, thread and headroom. The 6540 measures 65 mm in diameter at 40 mm height and carries an M8 thread, the 5035 comes in at 50 mm at 35 mm height with M6. The two-stage damping principle is identical on both, as is the black finish.
Why buy the CR-Tech Sound Supports 6540 at HD Zürisee?
