CR-Tech Sound Supports 5017, Set of 4

The CR-Tech Sound Supports 5017 are a set of 4 threadless decoupling feet that separate spiked speakers and light equipment from the floor without changing the tilt angle.

Developed and made in Switzerland, they're simply placed under the existing spike or original foot – nothing gets screwed in. At 50 mm diameter and 17 mm height, they're the flattest variant in the Sound Supports family. You choose the hardness grade and colour directly above.

Why the Sound Supports 5017?

Spikes serve a purpose: firm, wobble-free footing and a well-defined bass foundation. Their downside is the flip side of that – they couple the cabinet rock-solid to the floor, and every cabinet vibration travels straight into the parquet, the screed, the flat below. That's exactly where the 5017 comes in: the spike stays put, the angle too, but the three-stage build absorbs the vibrations and dissipates them in a controlled way instead of passing them on unchecked.

Because it needs no thread, it's also the uncomplicated solution for electronics: preamps, power amps, CD players, turntables or music servers simply sit on top. No drilling, no rebuilding, nothing you couldn't undo in two minutes.

What you hear

Most clearly in the bass. The boom that used to travel through the floor into the whole room – and gladly into the room next door – loses its motorway. The low end becomes drier and better defined, the soundstage calmer, voices stand more stably. And the floor stops quietly playing along. What it used to do, honestly, you only notice once it stops.

Who's the 5017 for – and who isn't it for?

The right choice under spiked floorstanding speakers up to around 30 kg, whose placement and tilt you don't want to lose – especially on hard floors like parquet, laminate or stone. Just as much under light sources and amplifiers standing on a rack or sideboard.

Plain talk: If your speaker has no spikes but threaded holes for feet instead, the 5023 with M6 thread is the better grip – it gets screwed in firmly. If your cabinet weighs noticeably more, the stronger 5035 or 6540 belong underneath. And on a soft, floating floor that absorbs a lot anyway, the effect turns out smaller than on a hard surface. That's how honest this needs to be.

Frequently asked questions

Do the 5017 need a thread on my speaker?

No. The 5017 are threadless. The existing spike or original foot of your speaker is simply placed on top – you don't screw anything or change anything on the cabinet. The tilt you've set stays exactly as you once aligned it.

What's the difference between the 5017 and the 5023?

The mounting principle. The 5017 needs no thread and is placed underneath, the 5023 is screwed firmly to the cabinet or unit with an M6 thread. The 5017 is intended for spiked speakers, the 5023 for existing threaded holes. Both come in various colours and hardness grades.

Which hardness grade should I choose?

It depends on the weight resting on one foot: the heavier, the higher the Shore rating. The shop offers 17, 30 and 45 Shore, further hardnesses from 12 to 64 Shore we source on request. Tell us the model and weight, and we'll place it for you.

Can I also put the 5017 under a CD player or a power amp?

Yes. Because they need no thread, they can be placed under the original feet of equipment – preamps, power amps, CD players, turntables and music servers included. The application range goes up to 30 kg, which easily covers the vast majority of electronic components.
