The Audio Analogue Pure AACento is an analogue integrated amplifier without global negative feedback, delivering 100 W into 8 Ω and bringing an MM/MC phono stage plus a standalone headphone amplifier in pure Class A. It's hand-built in Italy.

The satin black chassis is deliberately understated — the excitement happens inside, with a 480 VA toroidal transformer and a signal path that gets by without op-amps.

Why the Pure AACento?

Because it replaces three components without cutting corners. The power section delivers 100 W at 8 Ω, 200 W at 4 Ω and 330 W at 2 Ω at an output impedance of 0.4 Ω. The phono input accepts MM and MC cartridges and brings a switchable subsonic filter. And the headphone output is a genuine amplifier in pure Class A without negative feedback, with 1 W at 32 Ω and 120 mW at 300 Ω — not an afterthought bolted on out of pity.

What you hear

An open, effortless tone with plenty of substance in the midrange. Volume is controlled digitally, but the signal path stays fully analogue throughout, so quiet levels don't go flat either. Over headphones, the dedicated Class A stage kicks in and delivers the same calm as over speakers. Direct mode bypasses the volume control entirely, should a home-cinema processor need to take charge of volume.

Who is the Pure AACento for?

For vinyl and headphone listeners who want a tidy system rather than a tower of boxes. Plainly put: digital inputs, a DAC and streaming are entirely absent — you'll need to add a source, as the AACento is deliberately all-analogue. If instead you only listen through speakers and use neither phono nor headphones, you're paying for two sections that stay silent.

Our verdict

A quiet all-rounder with a clear stance: analogue, powerful, feedback-free, with a phono stage and a headphone amp that are both meant seriously. Whether it suits your cartridge, your headphones and your speakers, we'll tell you honestly — even when the answer is no. Frequently asked questions

Can I connect my turntable directly?

Yes. The AACento has a built-in phono stage for MM and MC cartridges, so you don't need an external phono preamp. A switchable subsonic filter tames footfall and warped records. Tell us your cartridge and we'll check in advance that the matching works out cleanly.

Does the AACento run in pure Class A?

No, that only applies to the headphone amplifier. Audio Analogue specifies pure Class A exclusively for that stage. The power section instead uses a design without global negative feedback and a 480 VA toroidal transformer. Pure Class A throughout is offered within this family by the ABsolute model.

Is the headphone output suitable for high-impedance models?

Yes, in most cases. The dedicated Class A stage without negative feedback delivers 500 mW at 16 Ω, 1 W at 32 Ω and 120 mW at 300 Ω. That's comfortably enough for the vast majority of hi-fi headphones. For very insensitive 600-ohm models, we'll check the figures together with you first.

Can I integrate the AACento into a home cinema setup?

Yes, via Direct mode. It bypasses the volume control, so an AV processor can drive the front channels through the AACento without two controls fighting each other. It has no digital inputs or built-in converter, though — the source needs to feed it an analogue signal.

Why buy the Pure AACento from HD Zürisee?

Because an amplifier with phono and a headphone amp only works out if the cartridge, headphones and speakers actually match. That exact matching is our daily business in Wädenswil. On top of that comes delivery, on-site installation and our own technician, who's still there to help years later.
