The Audio Analogue Puccini Anniversary is a purely analogue stereo integrated amplifier that brings source selection, level control and 80 watts of output power together in a single chassis made in Tuscany. In silver it shows what it's made of: 14 millimetres of brushed aluminium catches the light differently than a painted front, and its 15.5 kilos of live weight explain themselves the moment you lift it. A unit you notice without it shouting for attention.

Why the Puccini Anniversary?

Because the power supply sets the tone here. 700 VA of transformer capacity and twelve output transistors, three pairs per channel, add up to 80 W into 8 Ω, 160 W into 4 Ω and 300 W into 2 Ω — so power doubles with every halving of impedance, something not all amplifiers this size manage. Instead of a classic volume potentiometer, an encoder drives four precision digital potentiometers, two per channel. The result: exact channel tracking, even late at night at room volume.

What you hear

Above all, what doesn't happen. No hissing in the treble, no bloated upper bass, no audible strain when the music gets dense. The Puccini plays grounded and colourful at the same time: piano attacks keep their body, strings keep their bloom. At around 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio, there's genuine silence between the notes — a detail you only notice with quiet recordings and don't want to give up afterwards.

Who is the Puccini Anniversary for?

Straight talk: in very large rooms with impedance-critical floorstanding speakers, it's not the last word — that's where the Maestro Anniversary's territory begins, with its 150 W into 8 Ω. And anyone wanting everything in one unit, network and converter included, won't be happy with the Puccini. If instead you're after an honest analogue amplifier that stays the fixed point of a growing system for years, this is exactly right for you.

Our verdict

The Puccini Anniversary isn't a unit for the feature list, but one for everyday life: switch on, pick a source, listen. That it looks like a piece of furniture while playing like a considerably more elaborate system is the real trick. Frequently asked questions

Which speakers suit the Puccini Anniversary?

Bookshelf speakers and mid-size floorstanders with normal efficiency and a benign impedance curve work well. Thanks to 300 W into 2 Ω, the Puccini also handles loads that dip lower. Tell us which speakers you have or are considering, and we'll tell you honestly whether the combination holds up.

How does the Puccini Anniversary control volume?

Via an encoder that drives four high-precision digital potentiometers — two per channel. Compared with a mechanical potentiometer, that means even steps and exact channel tracking, especially at low levels. The knob still feels analogue, and the remote control is included.

Can I connect a turntable directly?

Not directly. The Puccini Anniversary has no phono input; its four RCA inputs are pure high-level inputs. A phono preamp matched to your cartridge type therefore belongs between turntable and amplifier — MM and MC place very different demands. Which model suits your cartridge is something we work out together in a few minutes.

How much space does the Puccini Anniversary need?

It measures 445 × 120 × 390 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 15.5 kg. Allow a few centimetres behind it for cables and plugs, and leave room to breathe above, since the amplifier sheds heat through its chassis. It fits into a standard hi-fi rack without any trouble.

Why buy the Puccini Anniversary from HD Zürisee?

Because for many years we've planned whole systems rather than shuffling individual units — which is why we notice early where a combination doesn't work. You get advice that takes your room and speakers into account, plus our own in-house technician, Mauri. Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or email.
