The WiiM Bar Glossy Black is a Dolby Atmos soundbar in a high-gloss finish: it starts as a 3.0.2 system and can be expanded wirelessly to a 5.1.2 home cinema. Technically it matches the matte black WiiM Bar – only the surface is different.
Why the WiiM Bar Glossy Black?
Because it is allowed to be a piece of living-room furniture and still not a dead end. Three front channels and two upward-firing height channels bring Dolby Atmos into the room. If you miss surround sound later, two WiiM Sound or Sound Lite as wireless rears and a WiiM Sub Pro can be added – without a single cable across the room.
Connection is via HDMI eARC, plus an optical input, Aux and USB. Music plays directly via Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Chromecast, DLNA and Roon Ready. So the soundbar doubles as the streaming speaker in your living room.
What you hear
Eight drivers and four passive radiators share 135 watts of system power. The mid-woofers carry the fundamental range, the separate tweeters bring back the speech intelligibility where many TVs fail. The two height drivers supply the Atmos information from above. Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, Digital Plus, DTS and DTS:X are decoded; RoomFit adapts the sound to your room using a smartphone microphone.
Who is the WiiM Bar Glossy Black for?
For anyone who wants to improve TV sound noticeably without building a multichannel system right away, and who wants a bar with an elegant glossy surface.
Plain talk: no AirPlay 2 and no HDMI input – the bar hangs off your TV's eARC output. High gloss looks great but shows every fingerprint; if you prefer easy care, choose the matte version. And if you are planning a real home cinema with an AV receiver, passive speakers will serve you better.
Our verdict
Same technology, different dress: the Glossy Black is the WiiM Bar for anyone who likes gloss and wants to keep the upgrade path to 5.1.2 open. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we are happy to show you the difference to the matte version side by side.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Glossy Black version differ from the matte WiiM Bar?
Technically not at all: drivers, connections, streaming and power are identical. The difference lies solely in the surface – the glossy version has a high-gloss finish. It looks elegant, but shows fingerprints and dust faster than a matte surface.
How do I expand the WiiM Bar to a 5.1.2 system?
You add two WiiM Sound or Sound Lite as wireless rear speakers and a WiiM Sub Pro as subwoofer. Everything is assigned and calibrated together in the WiiM Home app. Apart from power, none of the additional speakers needs a cable.
Do I need a TV with HDMI eARC?
For Dolby Atmos in full quality, yes. With plain HDMI ARC the bar works too, but with compressed audio formats. Alternatively the optical input is available, which carries Dolby Digital. Tell us your TV model and we will clarify this in advance.
Does the WiiM Bar have AirPlay 2?
No. Supported are Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music Cast, DLNA and Roon Ready, but not AirPlay 2. For TV sound this does not matter, because it comes over HDMI – it only becomes relevant if you want to play music straight from an iPhone.
Why buy the WiiM Bar Glossy Black from HD Zürisee?
Because TV sound is a matter of how TV, connection, room and seating distance work together. We go through it with you and plan the upgrade in stages. Delivery, wall mounting by our technician Maurizio and set-up all come from the same house.
