The Silent Angel Munich M1T is a pure network transport that delivers digital music sources losslessly and precisely to an external converter.

The T stands for transport, and that's the whole point: no internal DAC, but instead a highly specialized courier that delivers the data to your DAC extremely cleanly and on time.

Why the Munich M1T?

Because a dedicated transport without its own converter keeps the signal path free of interfering electronics.

  • Purely digital signal path: Without an internal converter, the hardware focuses entirely on error-free data delivery and nips interference in the bud.
  • VitOS operating system: Trimmed for minimal latency, so the music flows smoothly with an exact sense of rhythm.
  • Fanless thermal design: Massive heat sinks ensure silent operation without mechanical vibration.
  • Professional outputs: AES/EBU, I2S and coaxial enable more stable transmission than some USB connections.

What you get

The M1T stays ice-cold precise where all-in-one streamers struggle with internal interference. To a good external DAC it delivers a clean digital signal without jitter artifacts, so instruments are separated more sharply from one another. A tip from the workshop: if your DAC supports the I2S input, this direct connection of the clock signals often brings even more spatiality.

Who is the Munich M1T for?

The M1T is for you if you already own a high-quality external DAC or are planning one. Bluntly: it deliberately has no analog outputs like RCA, so without a separate converter no sound reaches your system. This very reduction is its trump card: no unnecessary electronics in the signal path, full focus on the transport.

Our verdict

The missing puzzle piece for anyone with a good DAC who wants to get the most out of it. The M1T reduces things to the essentials and does that really well. With a linear Forester F1, it gains even more calm and dynamics. Whether it suits your converter, we'll work out at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Frequently asked questions

Do I absolutely need an external DAC?

Yes. The M1T is a pure transport without analog outputs, it only delivers the digital signal. So you need an external digital-to-analog converter. That's exactly what it's made for: maximum cleanliness with no superfluous electronics in the signal path.

Can I use the Munich M1T as a Roon endpoint?

Yes, the M1T is Roon Ready certified and integrates into your Roon system as an endpoint without any trouble. You benefit from precise signal processing and can conveniently manage your library via Roon or the VitOS app.

Which output sounds best?

That depends on your DAC. If it supports I2S, it's often especially worth trying, because the clock signals are transmitted more directly. AES/EBU and coaxial are also very stable. We're happy to try the options with you during setup.

Why buy the Munich M1T at HD Zürisee?

Because a transport is only as good as how it works together with the DAC. In Wädenswil we check compatibility with your converter, choose the optimal output and set everything up cleanly, with honest advice and our own technician.
