Why the MB2.5 B?

Like Raidho, Scansonic HD belongs to the Danish manufacturer Dantax, and the ribbon tweeter comes from exactly that school: a featherlight foil diaphragm that resolves highs silkily and without harshness. Below it, two 5.25-inch drivers with rigid carbon diaphragms work on the 2.5-way principle – the second driver specifically supports the power-hungry bass range.

The curved cabinet with carbon bracing reduces resonance and edge diffraction. From the front, the MB2.5 B looks strictly rectangular; from the side, organically rounded – Nordic design that also serves an acoustic purpose.

What you hear

A fresh, high-resolution sound with cleanly defined, tight bass that reaches down to 36 Hz. The MB2.5 B draws a wide, stable soundstage and separates voices and instruments precisely. Despite the narrow front, it sounds mature and assured, not thin.

The adjustable aluminium feet decouple it cleanly from the floor – whether parquet or carpet, once aligned it stands rock solid.

Who is the MB2.5 B suited for?

For small to medium-sized rooms where a classic floorstanding speaker would be too bulky, yet the sound should still be mature. Ideal with a quality integrated amplifier or streaming amplifier. Plain talk: for very large rooms or SPL orgies it's not the first choice – for that, the series offers the larger MB3.5, MB5 or MB6. For normal-sized living rooms it's spot on.

Is the price for a pair or a single unit?

The MB2.5 B is sold in pairs, and the listed price is for both speakers. That lets you budget your stereo setup right away. As a floorstanding speaker it needs no additional stands – you place it straight on the floor.

What does 2.5-way mean?

Both bass drivers handle the bass, but only one additionally covers the midrange. The second exclusively supports the lower frequency range. This gives more bass foundation from a slim cabinet without colouring the midrange – a clever compromise between size and depth.

What room size suits the MB2.5 B?
