Why the Mountain Pre?

It sits between sources and power amp and determines how cleanly and dynamically the signal is passed on. Four inputs (2× RCA, 2× XLR), balanced and unbalanced outputs, 6 dB of gain. Within the system it provides the tonal composure that brings naturalness and structure together.

What you hear

Openness, calm and an authoritative image – the Pre doesn't push itself into the foreground sonically, but lets the DAC and power amp work unrestrained. With the Mountain DAC and Mountain Power it creates an open, spacious, coherent soundstage.

Who is the Mountain Pre for?

Plain talk: it's a pure line preamp – you need a power amp to go with it (ideally the Mountain Power, but basically any high-quality power amp via RCA/XLR).
