The Mountain Line is Merason's reference class; the Mountain DAC is its digital heart. It translates music data with the utmost precision into a natural, finely resolved and exceptionally spacious soundstage. Hand-built in Switzerland, premiered at Axpona 2025.

Why the Mountain DAC?

Unlike Reuss, DAC 1 Mk II and DAC 2, it processes not only PCM up to 192 kHz/24 bit but also DSD64 and DSD128. At the XLR output it delivers 3.4 V, at RCA 1.7 V. A massive 18 kg housing, uncompromising mechanics – within the system it stands for precision, resolution and musical authority.

Does the Mountain DAC play DSD?

Yes. Besides PCM up to 192 kHz/24 bit, it processes DSD64 and DSD128 – it's the only Merason DAC with native DSD. Reuss, DAC 1 Mk II and DAC 2 are pure PCM converters.

Do I have to buy the complete Mountain chain?

No. As a system of Mountain DAC, Pre and Power, the line is perfectly matched, but each unit can also be integrated individually into an existing High-End system. You run the Mountain DAC into a preamp or an integrated amp with a high-level input.

How big and heavy is the unit?
