Grado G-Cushion Headphone Ear Pads

The Grado G-Cushion is a genuine replacement ear pad from Grado – the large, ear-enclosing pad (affectionately known as the "salad bowl") fitted as standard on the flagship GS1000x and GS3000x, as well as the PS1000 and PS2000. It also fits all Prestige, Reference, Statement, Professional and Limited Edition headphones.

Largely, yes: the large G-Cushion encloses the ear and creates more distance to the driver. That enlarges the soundstage but takes away some bass punch. The character of the headphones changes audibly as a result – that's a matter of taste.

How often should ear pads be replaced?

There's no fixed interval – condition is what matters. Once the foam goes hard, crumbly or flat, comfort and fit suffer, and the sound changes with them. With daily use, replacing after a few years is normal.
