The Canton Townus 10 is an on-wall speaker that sits flat against the wall at just 9.7 cm deep, yet still performs as a full-fledged 2-way system.
White satin is the most understated of the three finishes: against a bright wall you mostly notice the music, not the box. Canton supplies the Townus 10 as a pair – two speakers in one box. For living rooms with no room for floorstanders, but every expectation of good sound.
Why the Canton Townus 10?
Behind the slim front sits a 154 mm mid-woofer with a titanium diaphragm and a long-throw wave surround, plus a 25 mm aluminium-oxide ceramic dome tweeter. The 2-way system runs sealed – so no reflex port that would quickly start booming near a wall. The crossover sits at 3,200 Hz, and the tweeter reaches up to 40,000 Hz. Drivers with no visible screws, an oval fabric cover held on magnetically: the look stays as calm as the wall behind it.
What you get
The wall bracket is already built into the housing, no off-the-shelf accessories needed. If you'd rather put the pair on a shelf, use the included feet. 60 watts rated power and 100 watts music power confidently cover living-room levels, and at 4 to 8 ohms the Townus 10 is an easy load for any decent stereo or AV amplifier. It reaches down to 45 Hz.
Who is the Canton Townus 10 for?
Straight talk: ideal as a space-saving stereo pair in smaller rooms, as a discreet rear pair in a home cinema, and anywhere a deep box on the wall simply won't work. If you want the full foundation in a generous room, plan for a subwoofer from the start – 9.7 cm of depth is no bass-reflex cabinet, and this speaker was never meant to be one. As a flat all-rounder on the wall, though, it has little competition.
Our verdict
The Canton Townus 10 in white is the speaker for anyone who wants to listen, not look: cleanly lacquered, flat, and a coherent home cinema once combined with the larger Townus models. Tell us about your room – at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll put together the right combination for you.

Frequently asked questions
Can I mount the Townus 10 directly on the wall?
Yes, with no extra parts. The bracket is built into the housing, and at 9.7 cm deep the speaker barely stands proud of the wall. Alternatively, use the included feet and set it on a shelf or sideboard – Canton explicitly supports both setups.
Is the Townus 10 supplied singly or as a pair?
As a pair. You get two speakers, exactly as Canton packages the Townus 10. That's enough for a stereo system with one set. In a home cinema, the pair typically takes the rear channels while larger Townus models play up front.
Does the Townus 10 need a subwoofer?
Not necessarily in a small room – the sealed housing plays down to 45 Hz and sounds surprisingly grown-up doing it. Once the room gets bigger or film sound comes into play, an active subwoofer is worthwhile, taking over the low end and relieving the small titanium diaphragms.
Which amplifier suits the Townus 10?
A stereo or AV amplifier that drives 4 to 8 ohms cleanly is entirely sufficient. Rated power handling 60 watts, music power handling 100 watts – healthy power reserves are welcome, but no monster power amp is required. Tell us what's already in your rack, and we'll tell you if it fits.
Why buy the Canton Townus 10 at HD Zürisee?
Because with on-wall speakers the details decide: height, angle, distance to the corner, cable routing behind the wall. We go through this with you, by phone, WhatsApp or in the shop in Wädenswil. Delivery, installation and calibration are handled by our technician Mauri on request.
Goes well with
Drive is supplied by an integrated amplifier, the foundation by a subwoofer. For multi-channel, more home cinema speakers complete the picture, connected with decent speaker cable. Alternatives in a flat design are found under on-wall speakers, the brand's remaining range at Canton.
