The Canton Townus 10 is an on-wall speaker that sits flat against the wall at just 9.7 cm deep, yet still performs as a full-fledged 2-way system.
In gloss black, it takes its place next to a dark TV without cluttering the room. Canton supplies it as a pair: two speakers, one box. Made for anyone who wants sound brought to the wall instead of directing floorstanding speakers around the sofa.
Why the Canton Townus 10?
Inside the flat housing works a 154 mm mid-woofer with a titanium diaphragm and a long-throw wave surround, topped by a 25 mm aluminium-oxide ceramic dome tweeter. The 2-way system is built as a sealed design – no reflex port that would start booming close to a wall. The crossover sits at 3,200 Hz, and the tweeter reaches up to 40,000 Hz. The drivers sit screwless in the housing, and the oval fabric cover holds on magnetically. What's left visible is a calm surface – nothing more.
What you get
The wall bracket is built into the housing, so you need no extra parts. Feet are included in case the pair ends up on the sideboard after all. 60 watts rated power and 100 watts music power comfortably cover living-room levels, and an impedance of 4 to 8 ohms is an easy load for any decent stereo or AV amplifier. It reaches down to 45 Hz – impressive for this depth, and the moment a subwoofer comes into play for cinema explosions.
Who is the Canton Townus 10 for?
Straight talk: the Townus 10 is the right choice as a space-saving stereo pair in smaller rooms, as an unobtrusive rear pair in a home cinema, or anywhere a deep box simply won't fit against the wall. If you want a full foundation in a large room, plan for a subwoofer – you can't conjure deep bass out of 9.7 cm of depth, no amount of persuasion changes that. As a slim all-rounder on the wall, though, hardly anything beats it.
Our verdict
The Canton Townus 10 brings Townus technology and clean lacquer finishing into a housing that almost disappears on the wall. Paired with the larger Townus models, it shows its strengths best. Which combination suits your room is something we're happy to work out together at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil – call or write to us.

Frequently asked questions
Can I mount the Townus 10 directly on the wall?
Yes. The wall bracket is built into the housing, so you need no extra accessories. At 9.7 cm deep, the speaker sits flat against the wall. If you'd rather place it freestanding, use the included feet and set it on a shelf or sideboard.
Is the Townus 10 supplied singly or as a pair?
As a pair. This listing is for two speakers, and Canton packages the Townus 10 in pairs too. For stereo, one set is all you need. If you're building a home cinema, use the pair as rears and add a matching centre channel.
Does the Townus 10 need a subwoofer?
Not necessarily in small rooms – the sealed housing reaches down to 45 Hz. In a larger living room, and especially in a home cinema, it gains noticeably once an active subwoofer takes over the low end. Physics simply can't be outsmarted with 9.7 cm of depth.
Which amplifier suits the Townus 10?
Any solid stereo or AV amplifier that drives 4 to 8 ohms stably. Rated power handling is 60 watts, music power handling 100 watts. Reserves never hurt, but the Townus 10 doesn't need a huge power amp either. Which combination suits your room is something we're happy to discuss with you.
Why buy the Canton Townus 10 at HD Zürisee?
Because we know how to integrate a flat on-wall speaker into an existing system: amplifier, cable runs, wall position. We advise you by phone, on WhatsApp or in person in Wädenswil, deliver and install on site, and our technician Mauri handles calibration and service.
Goes well with
Drive it with a integrated amplifier, add a subwoofer for the foundation, more home cinema speakers for a multi-channel expansion, and decent speaker cable to tie it together. More flat models are found under on-wall speakers, the brand's full range at Canton.
