The Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 is an active sounddeck with Dolby Atmos decoding and network streaming, which you place your TV directly on top of.
In white, the sound furniture becomes a bright base that barely stands out in the living room: 100 centimeters wide, 6 centimeters tall, 300 watts strong. Delivered as a single unit.
Why the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2?
Because bass needs volume, and a deck has more of it than any flat bar. Inside the cabinet works a three-way bass reflex system with four 100 mm aluminum woofers, four 50 mm aluminum midrange drivers and two 19 mm fabric tweeters, crossed over at 150 and 3,000 Hz, vented via a rear-firing bass reflex port. It goes down to 35 Hz, and without an additional subwoofer in the room. Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD are decoded, three HDMI inputs accept players, the HDMI output handles eARC. Music runs via AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, UPnP or Bluetooth, controlled via app.
What you hear
Six centimeters of height suggest little, but the cabinet is 33 centimeters deep – and that's exactly where the sound comes from. Films get a foundation you feel on the sofa, dialogue stays clear because four dedicated midrange drivers carry the speech range. The height information is computed rather than mirrored off the ceiling: the soundstage gets bigger and airier, but objects aren't pinpointed precisely above you. Honestly, that's the better trade for most living rooms – you feel bass every evening, you rarely hear rain from above.
Who is the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 suitable for?
Honestly: the white deck belongs in bright living rooms where the TV sits on a sideboard and nobody wants three devices plus a subwoofer. It's the wrong form factor if your TV hangs on the wall, because then it stays a pedestal with no purpose. Also check footprint and weight: 100 × 33 centimeters of contact area, maximum 40 kilograms. Anyone expecting genuine effects from above should know that the height plane is virtual.
Our verdict
A device that delivers more bass than its six centimeters of height would suggest, while elegantly solving the cable question. Honestly: less technology in the living room with more sound is a good trade. We at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil check with you beforehand whether TV stand and furniture play along.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Sounddeck 100 S2 also carry a large TV?
Yes. The contact area measures 100 × 33 centimeters, the retailer data table states a maximum load capacity of 40 kilograms; Canton itself gives no value. It's not the screen diagonal that decides, but the stand – measure it, especially with two widely spaced feet.
How does the height plane form on the Sounddeck 100 S2?
Computationally. The deck is Dolby Atmos licensed and also decodes DTS-HD, but distributes the height information across the existing drivers via signal processing. There are no upward-firing drivers, so the height feels more open rather than pinpointed precisely above you.
Can I connect headphones or a power amplifier?
No. The deck has neither a headphone jack nor a line or preamp output. The only output is the mono subwoofer RCA at a maximum of 2 volts, whose level follows the volume and which is intended for an active subwoofer. USB is for service only.
Does the sounddeck work without a streaming subscription?
Yes. AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect and UPnP are options, not requirements. Internet radio, music files from the network, Bluetooth and all sources on HDMI, optical, coaxial or RCA play without ongoing costs. The TV alone is entirely enough to start with.
Why buy the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 from HD Zürisee?
Because a deck only brings joy once furniture, TV and connections fit together. We clarify that with you beforehand instead of afterward – with years of experience from exactly these living rooms. Delivery, installation and setup on-site is handled by our technician Mauri.
Goes well with
A subwoofer for that last bit of depth, home cinema speakers as wireless rears, an HDMI cable for the eARC connection, and the entire Canton lineup.
