The Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 is an active sounddeck with Dolby Atmos decoding and network streaming, which you place your TV directly on top of.
Instead of a bar in front of the picture, a supporting pedestal underneath: 100 centimeters wide, 33 centimeters deep, 12.5 kilograms and equipped with 300 watts of system power. Delivered as a single unit in black.
Why the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2?
Because of the cabinet volume. Where a flat soundbar physically gives up, the deck has room for a real three-way bass reflex system: four 100 mm aluminum woofers, four 50 mm aluminum midrange drivers and two 19 mm fabric tweeters, crossed over at 150 and 3,000 Hz, with a rear-firing bass reflex port. The result reaches down to 35 Hz, without an extra cube standing in the room. Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD are decoded, three HDMI inputs accept players and the HDMI output handles eARC. Music arrives via AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, UPnP or Bluetooth.
What you hear
The difference to a flat bar shows immediately in the foundation. Film scores have body, doors close with weight, and yet voices stay cleanly separated, because four dedicated midrange drivers take over the speech range. The height plane is generated computationally rather than via ceiling reflection – it opens the soundstage upward, without objects being sharply localized above you. Plain talk: anyone seeking true Atmos cinema with overhead localization is better served by an upfiring system. Anyone who wants full, deep sound from a single piece of furniture is spot on here.
Who is the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 suitable for?
Plain talk: The deck is the right solution if your TV sits on a sideboard and you want full sound with depth from a single device, without a separate subwoofer. If your TV hangs on the wall, it's the wrong form factor – get a soundbar instead. Footprint and weight matter: 100 × 33 centimeters of contact area, maximum 40 kilograms. Measure your TV's stand before ordering.
Our verdict
The Sounddeck 100 S2 is the most sensible way to rescue a living room's sound without rearranging it: one device, one cable, a bass you wouldn't have expected. The virtual height plane is the honest compromise of this form factor, its bass foundation the clear advantage. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we clarify beforehand whether your TV furniture and your TV are a match.

Frequently asked questions
How heavy can the TV on the Sounddeck 100 S2 be?
The footprint measures 100 × 33 centimeters, the retailer data table states a maximum load capacity of 40 kilograms. Canton itself gives no value in the official data. Besides weight, the stand matters: measure it, especially for TVs with two widely spaced feet.
How does the Sounddeck 100 S2 produce Dolby Atmos?
It is Dolby Atmos licensed and additionally decodes DTS-HD, but computes the height information into the soundstage via signal processing. It has no separate upward-firing drivers, so the height plane stays virtual and comes across less distinctly than with true upfiring systems.
Do I additionally need a subwoofer?
No. Four 100 mm aluminum woofers in a three-way bass reflex cabinet play down to 35 Hz, helped by the deck's volume. For even more punch, add a Canton Smart Sub wirelessly or use the subwoofer output for an active model.
Does the Sounddeck 100 S2 have a headphone output?
No. Neither a headphone jack nor an adjustable line output is present. The only output is the mono subwoofer RCA at a maximum of 2 volts, whose level follows the volume control. The USB-A port is for service only and does not play music.
What's the difference between a sounddeck and a soundbar?
A sounddeck sits under the TV and carries it, a soundbar sits in front of it or hangs on the wall. The deck has more cabinet volume and therefore more bass, but needs a sideboard. If your TV hangs on the wall, a soundbar is the right choice.
Why buy the Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 S2 from HD Zürisee?
Because the decision between deck and bar depends on your furniture, not the data sheet. We check footprint, TV stand and connections with you before anything is delivered. Delivery, installation and setup on-site is handled by our technician Mauri. Call us or write to us.
Goes well with
A subwoofer for that last bit of depth, home cinema speakers as wireless rears, an HDMI cable for the eARC connection, and the entire Canton lineup.
