Canton Smart Libero Set 4 Surround Set, Black (Set)

The Canton Smart Libero Set 4 is a wireless 4.0 surround set made up of the Smart Connect 5.1 S2 as the hub and four active Smart Libero speakers.

Four compact speakers, a flat hub, not a single speaker cable running across the living room: the Smart Connect 5.1 S2 takes in the TV and up to three further sources via HDMI and distributes sound wirelessly to front left and right as well as rear left and right. The very part where home-cinema projects usually fail – the cables to the rears – is simply gone.

Why the Smart Libero Set 4?

Because it delivers real surround without anyone having to lift the carpet. All four Libero pair over the Canton Smart wireless link, and you decide in the speaker configuration which speaker takes which position. If the sofa moves, the rears just move with it – a power outlet within reach is all they need.

What you get

Room-filling sound from four active speakers, each with a 25 mm fabric tweeter, a 78 mm cellulose-graphite driver and 70 watts of system power. Films get effects that sit behind you instead of floating somewhere; music gets a wide, stable stage. Everything is controlled through the hub, which decodes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio and streams via AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in and Spotify Connect.

Who is the Set 4 for?

Straight talk: for anyone who wants surround but no cable channels. Without a Smart Sub it stays a 4.0 with no dedicated deep bass – for full cinema impact you need one, which turns it into a 5.1. Height channels are also still missing; that would take two more Libero up top. And the Smart Libero only work within the Canton Smart ecosystem, not with third-party electronics. We'll tell you in advance whether 4.0 is enough for your room.

Wireless surround you actually set up rather than wire up: four discrete speakers, one hub, cleanly expandable. In black, the rears disappear against dark walls so well that guests only ask where the sound is coming from once the credits roll.

Does the Set 4 include a subwoofer?

No. The Set 4 is a 4.0 system without a subwoofer. For deep bass and a full 5.1, you pair a Canton Smart Sub wirelessly. Whether that's worth it for your room, or whether the four Libero are enough, we'll tell you honestly.

Do I need an additional AV receiver?

No. The Smart Connect 5.1 S2 works as a wireless AV preamplifier with three HDMI inputs and one eARC output, and the four Smart Libero have their own power amps on board. Each speaker just needs a power outlet within reach; speaker cables are gone entirely.

How are the four speakers connected?

Wirelessly. You assign each speaker its position in the hub's speaker configuration, after which the wireless connection is established as soon as the power cable is plugged in. There's no audio cable between hub and speakers – only power is needed.

Can I use Dolby Atmos with the Set 4?

The hub decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio, but with four Libero you're covering front and surround – height channels are still missing. Adding two more Libero on the wall or ceiling brings in the height layer. Up to eight wireless Smart speakers are possible.
