The Canton Puro 30 is a passive compact speaker with 2-way drivers and a sealed enclosure, deliberately conceived as a piece of furniture too.
Sand is the warmest of the Puro series' five finishes: a restrained beige that works alongside oak, linen and light stone without trying too hard. The shape is the same elliptical cross-section, 14.5 × 21.5 × 10 cm at 2 kg. Nothing about this speaker shouts "hi-fi rack".
Why the Puro 30?
Because Canton didn't sacrifice engineering for design here. Both diaphragms are aluminium – 25 mm up top, 106 mm below – and the enclosure stays sealed instead of chasing prettier spec-sheet numbers with a port. That costs a few hertz at the bottom end and buys precision and tolerance for a near-wall position in return. An honest trade you notice in the living room sooner than on the datasheet.
What you hear
A clean midrange with well-defined voices, airy rather than sharp highs up to 30 kHz, and bass that stops at 45 Hz – without a cloud of overhang to show for it. On a sideboard, a shelf or stands, the result is a stage that feels noticeably bigger than the two cabinets themselves.
Who is the Puro 30 for?
For anyone who takes their music seriously – and their interior too. Straight talk: if you love electronic music below 40 Hz, you won't be happy without a subwoofer, and the Puro 30 isn't built as a big home-cinema front – that's what the Puro 90 is for. As a stereo pair, a desktop solution or a rear pair, though, it plays fully to its strengths.
Our verdict
Sand is the finish for anyone who finds black too technical and white too clinical. Sonically it's naturally no different from the other four – it just ends up wherever you actually wanted it, rather than wherever it draws the least attention.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Canton Puro 30 have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?
No. The Puro 30 is a purely passive speaker with no network features, no Bluetooth and no app control. Streaming is handled by the electronics in front of it, such as a streaming amplifier or a network player feeding the amp. That keeps the speaker long-lived, since it has no software to become outdated.
Is the enclosure sealed or ported?
Sealed. Canton states the principle as 2-way sealed. A sealed enclosure rolls off more gently in the bass than a ported design, but stays punchier and reacts less sensitively when the speaker sits near a wall or on a shelf.
Does the Puro 30 fit on a speaker stand?
Yes, at 14.5 cm wide and 10 cm deep it fits standard compact-speaker stands. The ideal height puts the tweeter roughly at ear level while seated. At 21.5 cm cabinet height, that typically works out to 60 to 70 centimetres, depending on your sofa.
Can I expand to a home cinema set later?
Yes. The Puro series is built for combination: Puro 90 as the front, Puro 30 as the rear, plus a subwoofer and an AV receiver. Because the tweeter and voicing stay the same across the series, voices and effects move between channels without an audible break.
Why buy the Canton Puro 30 from HD Zürisee?
Because a speaker rarely comes on its own. We work out with you which amplifier suits 4 to 8 ohms, how long the cables need to be, and whether stands or a wall bracket make more sense. HD Zürisee is based in Wädenswil and has its own technician in-house for delivery, installation and service.
Goes well with
For expanding towards multichannel, the home cinema speakers overview is worth a look; all other compact speakers are under Bookshelf speakers. Bass below 45 Hz is delivered by the Subwoofers, and everything else Canton makes is shown in the Canton world.
