The Canton Atelier InWall 3 is a passive, square 2-way in-wall speaker for invisible sound in the smallest of spaces.
In black silk matt, it's aimed at dark accent walls, media rooms and ceilings where a white frame would stand out. The cut-out measures 29 × 29 cm, the installation depth 7.2 cm – after that, nothing of the technology is visible except the frameless fabric cover.
Why the Atelier InWall 3 in black?
Because the square format fits in anywhere elongated models fail due to studs or wiring – and because black disappears completely in a darkened room. Inside the enclosure work a 128 mm aluminium-titanium woofer/midrange driver, a 25 mm aluminium tweeter with wave guide and a passive radiator. The enclosure is sealed, so the speaker doesn't depend on the wall cooperating.
What you hear
Clear voices, fine treble, a tidy sound picture without being pushy. It rolls off from 42 Hz downward, which is exactly right for effect channels, background music and speech. 88 dB sensitivity means: even a mid-range AV receiver drives several of them without breaking a sweat.
Who is the Atelier InWall 3 suited to?
For surround and Atmos-adjacent effect positions, for secondary-room sound and for small rooms where a pair is enough as a stereo system. In dark cinema rooms, the black finish is the natural choice anyway. Honestly: anyone wanting to use it alone to fill a large living room will be disappointed – that's not a weakness of the speaker, it's physics. Fronts belong in a size up, and a subwoofer never hurts.
Our verdict
A small, honest in-wall speaker that does exactly what it's built for: playing cleanly and unobtrusively in spots where otherwise nothing works at all. In black, the right choice for media rooms and dark walls.

Frequently asked questions
How big is the cut-out for the Atelier InWall 3 in black?
29 × 29 cm, installation depth 7.2 cm, cover plate external dimensions 33 × 33 cm. In drywall, the cut-out fits comfortably between two studs; in solid walls, a recess is chiselled out. Our technician Mauri takes a look at this at your place beforehand.
Does the InWall 3 need an enclosure behind it?
No. The driver sits in its own enclosure with a passive radiator, so the wall's volume isn't acoustically needed. That means it sounds the same in concrete as in drywall. We only recommend insulating the cavity wall if a bedroom or office lies behind it.
Does the InWall 3 tolerate moisture in the bathroom?
Canton doesn't state a wet-room or IP rating for the Atelier InWall series, so it doesn't belong in the splash zone. Kitchen, hallway and living spaces are unproblematic. If your project includes a genuine wet area, we'll find you a model approved for that.
Can I mix black and white InWall models?
Technically no problem, the colour doesn't change the specs. In practice, black is chosen for dark accent or cinema walls, and white for light ceilings and walls. The fabric cover can also be repainted to match the wall colour.
Why buy the Canton Atelier InWall 3 in black from HD Zürisee?
Because a hole in the wall has no return policy. We go through positions, cut-out dimensions, wall construction and cable routing with you beforehand and send Mauri round for the installation. Get in touch by phone, email or WhatsApp, and we'll plan it together.
