The Blok Stax 2G Module 220 in Black Glass is a build-up level for the modular Stax 2G rack system with 220 mm of usable height, tempered black glass as the shelf, and gloss black side supports.
It extends an existing Stax 2G upward – by exactly the tier your tallest component needs. Of the three finishes, this is the most eye-catching: glass and gloss put technology on display rather than hiding it. Don't forget the duster.
Why the Module 220?
Because 170 mm eventually isn't enough. The 220 mm tier is meant for the tall calibre: AV receivers, tube amplifiers, generously sized power supplies, or a turntable complete with lid. In the Stax 2G system, you decide anew per level how much room a component gets – and you don't have to replace the whole rack when a new chassis moves in.
What you get from it
The 10 mm thick black glass rests on silicone isolation pads whose grooves fit over the connecting bolts of the level below – bolted firmly in place yet acoustically separate. The hollow side supports hold about three litres and can be weighted with inert material through concealed plugs, giving the tower extra calm. By the way: the glass version offers eight millimetres more usable depth than the plywood finishes.
Who is the Module 220 for?
For anyone who owns or is planning a Stax 2G in Black Glass and has at least one tall component in the system. Straight talk: bought on its own, the module does you no good – feet, spikes and tools are in the Base Module. Anyone stacking only slim components is better off with 120 or 170 mm, saving build height. And anyone who can't stand fingerprints should stick with one of the two wood finishes – gloss is honest, but not forgiving.
Our verdict
The most elegant way to add a tall level to a Stax 2G. Material quality, precision fit and decoupling are beyond doubt; the look is a matter of taste – whoever likes it gets the reference point of the series here. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we work through the tower with you in advance, including total height and flooring.

Frequently asked questions
How much space does the 220 mm level offer?
220 mm of usable height at 480 mm width and 387 mm depth. That makes the glass version eight millimetres deeper to use than the plywood versions. Add one to two centimetres of reserve for ventilation and connectors, and even an AV receiver fits with room to spare.
Is glass a sonic disadvantage as a shelf?
No, as long as it rests decoupled – which is exactly what happens here. The 10 mm thick tempered black glass sits on silicone isolation pads that fit over the connecting bolts. Anyone wanting even more calm can fill the hollow side supports with inert material through the concealed plugs.
Can I mix glass and wood modules?
Technically, all Stax 2G modules fit together. Visually, we'd advise against it: the glass version has gloss black supports and a slightly different usable depth than the plywood versions. Stay within one finish, and the finished tower looks like one coherent piece.
What comes with the module?
Four M10 connecting bolts, that's all the level needs. Feet, spikes, bolt caps as well as the assembly and height-adjustment tool belong to the Base Module. The Module 220 is an extension and only works on an existing Stax 2G build, not as a stand-alone piece of furniture.
Why buy the Blok Stax 2G Module 220 from HD Zürisee?
Because we look at your rack as a whole: which level for which component, how tall the tower may become, what the floor can handle. Our team in Wädenswil has been supporting HiFi setups since the nineties and delivers with assembly on request. Call us or write to us.
Goes well with
The foundation for any build is the Stax 2G Base Module in Black Glass with feet, spikes and tools. Further tiers in the same finish: the Module 120 for slim components, the Module 170 for amplifiers and players, the Module LP for records. You'll find the whole series under Blok, all models under HiFi racks. And what goes on top: turntables, CD players, integrated amplifiers, streamers & network players, and accessories.
