The AudioQuest Cinnamon Digital Coax is a coaxial S/PDIF digital cable with a solid conductor carrying 1.25 percent silver and full shielding – the mid-range tier of the coax line.
Why the Cinnamon?
Digital signals run so fast that they travel mainly along the conductor's surface. That's exactly where the Cinnamon comes in: 1.25 percent silver on a solid conductor, plus a nitrogen-injected Hard-Cell Foam dielectric that keeps the distance to the shield constant. The shielding provides full coverage, made of foil and silver-plated braid, and the RCA connectors are cold-welded and gold-plated.
What you get
More order in the detail. Attacks become more precise, the space between instruments feels tidier, and complex passages stay legible instead of blurring into a mush. None of this jumps out at you – it's more noticeable when you switch back.
Who is the Cinnamon suited for – and who isn't it?
Plain talk: if your converter is a solid all-rounder, the Forest already gets out of it what's in it. As soon as a higher-class device sits at the other end – a good standalone converter, a decent transport – the step up to the Cinnamon pays off.

Frequently asked questions
What changes compared to the Forest Coax?
Above all, two things. The solid conductor now carries 1.25 percent silver instead of 0.5, which benefits the surface at very high frequencies. And the shielding provides full coverage, using foil and silver-plated braid instead of tinned. The dielectric stays the proven Hard-Cell Foam.
What's the Noise-Dissipation System good for?
It keeps high-frequency noise away from your devices' ground. A shield catches interference, but passes it on to ground, where it can modulate the reference voltage. The system's metal layer converts part of this energy into heat before it reaches the device.
Are differences even audible with digital cables?
Not always, but more often than skeptics assume. The bits arrive; the question is their timing. Converters with a weak input stage react clearly to jitter, very well-buffered ones barely at all. That's why we ask first which converter you have before recommending a tier.
Why buy the Cinnamon Coax from HD Zürisee?
Because with us, you get an honest assessment, not sales rhetoric. We know the converters and transports actually in use in the region, and we tell you where this tier makes a difference. Reach us on 044 680 22 00 or shop@hdzuerisee.ch.
