Honestly

Yamaha covers almost every need – from your first stereo setup to the uncompromising 5000 series. The high-end line (NS-5000 with Zylon drivers, A-S3200, C-/M-5000) competes right at the top. Sonically, Yamaha aims consistently for naturalness over effect – if you're after a distinctly warm or spectacular sound, you should know that. In return you get reliable technology and a range that hardly leaves anything to be desired.

Frequently asked questions about Yamaha

Stereo amplifier, network receiver or AV receiver – what fits?

Only music from fixed sources: a stereo amplifier. Music including streaming from one unit: an R-N network receiver. Film and multichannel sound: an RX-AV receiver. Tell us what you want to hear (and watch), and it'll fit.

What makes the NS-5000 special?

All three drivers are made of the same material (Zylon) for a homogeneous, natural sound – an elaborate concept from Yamaha's hi-fi flagship range. Listen to it, and it explains itself.

Integrated amp A-S3200 or separate C-5000/M-5000?

The A-S3200 is the elegant single-chassis solution; splitting into C-5000/M-5000 offers more headroom for an uncompromising setup. We narrow it down by speakers and budget.

Can I listen to Yamaha at your place?
