The R-N1000A is the flagship of the line-up below the R-N2000A. It takes the strengths of the R-N800A – YPAO room correction and the ES9080Q DAC – and adds the crucial connection: HDMI-ARC for your TV. That makes the receiver a control center for both music and TV sound in one device.

Sound & Amplification

2× 100 W at 8 ohms (0.07% THD), 2× 120 W at 6 ohms. Inside, a large E-core transformer, powerful smoothing capacitors and a double-bottom chassis with anti-resonance feet do the work. The gold-plated speaker terminals and ToP-ART construction take resonance and signal-path cleanliness seriously.

HDMI & YPAO

Via HDMI-ARC you connect your TV with a single cable and control the volume with your TV remote. The YPAO-R.S.C. room correction with measurement microphone automatically adapts the sound to your room – which often makes the biggest difference in real living rooms.

Streaming & Sources

MusicCast delivers Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, internet radio and multiroom, plus AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LAN. The ESS SABRE ES9080Q converts up to DSD 11.2 MHz and PCM 384 kHz. Connections: MM phono, three line RCA, two optical and one coaxial digital input, USB-DAC (USB-B), plus pre-out, subwoofer out, headphones and trigger out.

Straight talk – what you should know

If you run both speaker pairs (A+B) at the same time, the speakers should have at least 8 ohms – for lower-impedance speakers you switch the impedance in the setup menu. The front display shows relatively little detail; for precise playback info use the MusicCast app. Bluetooth runs on version 4.2.
