Collection: Streaming Amplifiers

A streaming amplifier combines a network streamer and an integrated amplifier in a single housing, making it a complete HiFi system in one single device.

Feed it a source via app or stream, connect your speakers, done – no stack of components and no cable clutter.

Why a streaming amplifier?

Because it bundles streamer, DAC and amplifier in one housing, making it the simplest way to listen to music both modern and good. Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Roon, AirPlay or Bluetooth in, and the system plays. From NAD and Bluesound for a smart entry point through Technics to Gold Note and MOON at the high end, it's all there.

What you should know

Convenient doesn't mean arbitrary: there are worlds of difference between merely playing and truly sounding good. What matters is the supported services, the app and a stable network. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll tell you honestly whether an all-in-one is enough for your needs or where separate components deliver more.

Who is a streaming amplifier for? (Straight talk)

Ideal for anyone who wants a full system without a stack of components and wants to control music via an app. Straight talk: if you already have a collection of fine individual components and enjoy combining them, you'll stay happier that way. If you want sound and simplicity in one, a streaming amplifier serves you brilliantly.

Our verdict

The streaming amplifier is the modern HiFi system par excellence: one device that unites source and amplifier and still plays right up to the high end. Tell us which services you use and which speakers you're connecting, and we'll find the model that fits you.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference to a streamer?

A streamer is a pure network source and additionally needs an amplifier. A streaming amplifier already has the amplifier built in – one device instead of two. Which path makes sense for you depends on space, budget and requirements, and we're happy to help you work that out.

Which streaming services run on it?

Depending on the model: Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal, Roon, AirPlay, Bluetooth and internet radio. Not every device supports every service. Tell us which service you use, and we'll check in advance whether your favourite is included, instead of surprising you after the purchase.

Do I need a paid subscription?

No. Streaming services are an option, not a requirement. Most devices also play internet radio, your local files on the network and Bluetooth, all without a subscription. With services like Qobuz or Tidal you additionally bring hi-res quality into your home, if you like.

Do I still need a DAC?

No, a good DAC is already built into the streaming amplifier. From a certain class upward, an external DAC can get even more out of it, but that's fine-tuning, not a must. Whether the add-on is worth it for your device is something we'll compare with you directly.

Can I connect my turntable?

Many streaming amplifiers have a phono input or can be expanded, some need a small phono preamp in between. Tell us which turntable and cartridge you use, and we'll check what fits before you buy.

Why buy a streaming amplifier from HD Zürisee?

Because convenient and audiophile aren't mutually exclusive, but the choice depends on services, app and your speakers. We set the device up cleanly and tell you honestly where all-in-one is enough and where separate components deliver more. Qobuz partner since 2018, advice and service from Wädenswil.

Goes well with

If you'd rather keep source and amplifier separate, take a look at the streamers and integrated amplifiers. Active speakers with built-in streaming can be found among the streaming speakers, and the matching speakers among the speakers.
