Bluesound Pulse M Streaming Speaker, White (Each)

The Bluesound Pulse M is an active streaming speaker with BluOS that radiates all around via the Omni-Hybrid principle instead of firing only forward.

In matte white, it practically disappears into bright living spaces – until it starts playing. An upward-firing woofer/midrange driver works against an acoustic reflector, while two angled tweeters spread the highs. The room is filled evenly, whether you're on the sofa or busy in the kitchen.

Why the Pulse M?

50 watts for the 5.25-inch woofer/midrange driver, 15 watts each for the two 0.75-inch tweeters: 80 watts of system power, cleanly split by a DSP amplifier. BluOS brings over 20 streaming services along, but plays internet radio, podcasts and your own files from network storage just as well – no paid subscription required for that. Five presets on the touch panel with proximity sensor bring back favorites with a single tap.

What you get

Hi-res audio at 16 to 24 bit and up to 192 kHz including MQA, bidirectional Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD, AirPlay 2, and voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri. On the back, a combined input for 3.5 mm analog and optical, USB-A, Gigabit Ethernet and a headphone output. The Pulse Sub+ can be added wirelessly, and two Pulse M units become a stereo pair or a surround duo via the app.

Who is the Pulse M for?

The right choice for even room coverage without a fixed listening spot – open floor plan, kitchen, living room, home office. Honestly: if you want precise stereo imaging at the sweet spot, get two right away, or go with a classic pair. And below 40 Hz it's over; for film sound with real punch, the Pulse Sub+ belongs alongside it. It's not built as a permanent outdoor speaker.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a streaming subscription for the Pulse M?

No. BluOS does integrate over 20 streaming services, but it plays internet radio, podcasts and your own music files from network storage or a USB stick just as well. A paid subscription is an option, not a requirement – the speaker works fully from day one.

How low does the Pulse M's bass go?

Bluesound specifies 60 Hz to 20 kHz at ±1.5 dB, and 40 Hz at −10 dB. For pop, jazz and classical in a normal living room, that reaches further than the cabinet size would suggest. For film sound and larger rooms, add the Pulse Sub+ wirelessly.

Which wall mount fits the Pulse M?

The Bluesound WM230, made to fit the Pulse M's enclosure exactly. Alternatively there's the FS230 floor stand. Because the woofer/midrange fires upward, there should be enough free space above the speaker – placed directly under a wall cabinet, you give away part of the 360° effect.

Can I connect headphones to the Pulse M?

Yes. The Pulse M has a 3.5 mm headphone output, and thanks to bidirectional Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD you can also send the sound wirelessly to Bluetooth headphones. What it doesn't have is a line or preamp output for external power amps – the amplification is built into the housing.
