The Bluesound Pulse M is an active streaming speaker with BluOS that spreads its sound through the room in 360 degrees via the Omni-Hybrid principle.

Let's be honest: most speakers reward exactly one seat. The Pulse M turns that around – an upward-firing woofer, an acoustic reflector and two angled tweeters mean the sweet spot comes to you instead of the other way round. In matte black, it stays pleasantly unobtrusive while doing it.

Why the Pulse M?

A 5.25-inch woofer at 50 watts and two 0.75-inch tweeters at 15 watts each add up to 80 watts of system power, distributed by a DSP amplifier. Through BluOS you get access to more than 20 streaming services, plus internet radio, podcasts and your own music files on the network – the latter running entirely without a paid subscription. Five preset buttons on the touch panel with proximity sensor bring back favourite stations and playlists with a single tap.

What you get

Hi-res playback at 16 to 24 bit and up to 192 kHz including MQA, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD in both directions, AirPlay 2, and voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri. Plus a 3.5mm combo input for analogue or optical sources, USB-A for local files, a headphone output, and a wireless link to the Pulse Sub+. Two Pulse M speakers make a genuine stereo pair or the rear duo of a home cinema group.

Who is the Pulse M for?

Ideal when a room needs even sound coverage without you committing to one seat – kitchen, living room, open floor plan. Honestly: if you want pinpoint stereo imaging from a fixed listening spot, a classic pair serves you better; in that case just set up two Pulse M speakers. And the bass extension ends at −10 dB around 40 Hz – for movie nights with real punch, add the Pulse Sub+. It's not built for permanent outdoor use.

What does the Omni-Hybrid design in the Pulse M mean?

The woofer fires upward against an acoustic reflector that spreads the sound in all directions; two tweeters angled at 45 degrees handle the highs. The result is a 360-degree soundstage that feels similarly balanced throughout the room – no matter where you're sitting or standing.

How deep does the Pulse M play, and do I need a subwoofer?

Bluesound specifies 60 Hz to 20 kHz at ±1.5 dB, reaching down to 40 Hz at −10 dB. For music in a living space that's surprisingly enough. If you want movie sound with real punch or need to fill a larger room, pair it wirelessly with a Bluesound Pulse Sub+.

Can two Pulse M speakers be used as a stereo or surround set?

Yes. In the BluOS app you can pair two Pulse M speakers into a stereo pair with separate channels, or assign them as rear surround speakers in a home cinema group. So you can start with one unit and expand later without replacing anything.

Can I mount the Pulse M on the wall?

Yes, with Bluesound's optional WM230 wall bracket; for free-standing placement there's the FS230 floor stand. Both are matched to the housing. Make sure to leave enough space above it – the woofer fires upward and needs room.
