The Cabasse The Pearl Myuki is a portable active speaker with a coaxial driver, a built-in network streamer and a battery – here in matte white.

A sphere on a flat base, 186 mm wide and just 2.1 kg, that travels wherever someone wants to listen to music right now: living room, kitchen, terrace, guest room.

Why the Pearl Myuki?

Cabasse packs 141 watts into the small enclosure: 65 watts for the coaxial DOM 45 wideband driver, twice 38 watts for the opposing 12 cm woofers. The push-push arrangement cancels out the vibrations of the two drivers against each other, so the sphere stays calm even in deep bass. A built-in microphone measures the room and corrects the frequency response. Bottom line: small in build, not small in thinking.

What you get

Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi 5 standard with mesh support, Ethernet, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, UPnP/DLNA and the StreamCONTROL app for multiroom. Roon users are also covered since the 2025 firmware update: the Myuki is officially Roon Ready. It plays back hi-res files up to DSD 128. On the wired side, an optical input for the TV and a 3.5 mm jack for analogue sources are ready to go. A streaming service is never mandatory here – internet radio and files from your own network don't cost an extra cent.

Who is the Myuki for – and who isn't it for?

For anyone who wants to take their sound with them rather than bolt it down. Honestly: if you're after a fixed stereo system for the living room, a pair of Pearl Akoya on stands serves you better. The Myuki isn't weatherproof – Cabasse states no protection rating against water and dust – so it's the wrong choice for permanent outdoor use. And a single sphere remains a mono source until a second one joins it.

Our verdict

White makes the Myuki even more unobtrusive, while the sound stays surprisingly grown-up. In Wädenswil, we at HD Zürisee think through with you where the sphere should sit and whether one is enough – with a portable speaker, the location matters more than the spec sheet.

The trade press on this: "Plenty of DSP power helps cleverly mask the acoustic limitations from its small physical size and makes the listener believe in a much bigger speaker. And it does so very convincingly." – Frank Borowski, LowBeats 09/2024, rating 4.5/5.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get one speaker or two with the Myuki?

One. Cabasse sells the Myuki as a single unit that plays in mono on its own. Two spheres can be paired into a stereo pair in the StreamCONTROL app, but that's a deliberate additional decision, not the state it ships in. If you want to upgrade later, just buy a second sphere.

How long does the battery play for?

Cabasse states up to twelve hours per charge, depending on volume and source. It's recharged via USB-C with the included mains adapter, and it keeps playing indefinitely while plugged in. The manufacturer doesn't disclose how long a full charge takes or how large the battery is.

Does the Myuki have a USB audio input or HDMI?

No, neither. The USB-C port is exclusively for power and charging, and there's no HDMI at all. For the TV, use the optical Toslink input; for a turntable with phono stage or other analogue sources, the 3.5 mm jack. Wirelessly, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and your home network are also available.

Does the Myuki work with Roon?

Yes, it's been Roon Ready since the 2025 firmware update. In Roon's official device list, The Pearl Myuki is listed as a certified Roon Ready model, so you connect it directly as a Roon zone instead of via AirPlay 2. It's worth checking your firmware version before the first attempt.

Can I use the Myuki outdoors?

On a dry terrace or balcony, sure – in the rain, no. Cabasse states no protection rating against water and dust, so it's a mobile indoor speaker. For genuine outdoor use, we'll advise you on models built for that. A padded bag is included for transport.

Why buy the Pearl Myuki at HD Zürisee?

Because we clarify the intended location with you first, rather than simply adding a second sphere to your cart. Andy's roots in the trade go back to 1993, and that experience shows in our advice, in warranty handling as an authorised dealer, and in service through our own technician.
