Canton Plus MX.3 Mini Bookshelf Speaker, Matt White (Pair)

The Canton Plus MX.3 is the smallest compact speaker in Canton's special speaker series, designed for freestanding placement or wall mounting wherever even a Plus X.3 would still be too big.

In white satin, it barely stands out next to bright walls and furniture, yet is still a fully capable 2-way system in miniature format. Its dimensions — roughly 9 × 11.5 × 10 cm — read almost like an accessory rather than a standalone speaker.

Why the Canton Plus MX.3?

Because there are spots where even a small compact speaker looks too bulky: next to the TV, on a shelf, on a narrow wall section. An 80 mm aluminum woofer and a 15 mm aluminum tweeter are consistently tailored to this niche — no miracle driver, but honest technology in a mini format.

What you hear

Clear, decently resolved mids and highs, as you'd expect from such a small driver — deep bass naturally stays out of the picture. As an Atmos height channel or rear effect in a multichannel setup, it does its job reliably without drawing attention.

Who is the Canton Plus MX.3 suited for?

For anyone who needs the most invisible effect or height channel possible, not for anyone who wants to seriously listen to music through it. Plain talk: as a stereo pair for music enjoyment, it's simply too small — that's what the larger Plus and Pro models are for.

Our verdict

The Plus MX.3 is not a speaker for the big stage, but for the gap that would otherwise stay empty. Small, honestly limited, but reliable in its niche — and especially unobtrusive in white. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we'll tell you openly whether the MX.3 is enough for your purpose.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Canton Plus MX.3 meant for?

Mainly for spots where any larger speaker would look too bulky — as an Atmos height channel, rear effect, or additional speaker. It's deliberately not designed for serious stereo music enjoyment.

Does the Plus MX.3 produce deep bass?

No, the frequency response starts at 120 Hz. Combined with a subwoofer, though, it still results in a coherent overall picture.

Can I mount the Plus MX.3 on the wall?

Yes, the wall bracket is included. Alternatively, it can be freestanding or placed on the matching LS 90.3 stand.

How many Plus MX.3 do I need for home cinema?

Usually two, for instance as Atmos height channels or a rear pair. We're happy to work out how many make sense for your setup.

Why buy the Canton Plus MX.3 from HD Zürisee?

Because we tell you honestly when a different model fits better, instead of simply selling you the next speaker. Our team in Wädenswil plans your multichannel setup with you. Give us a call or drop us a quick message.

Goes well with

An AV receiver with enough channels, a subwoofer for the foundation, and thin, unobtrusive speaker cable for running along the wall. More models from the brand are in the CANTON overview.
