Canton LS 40 Speaker Stand, Black (Pair)

The Canton LS 40 is a speaker stand for the active multiroom speakers Canton Smart Soundbox 3 and Smart Libero, which brings the speaker firmly and securely to seated ear height via a screw thread mount.

This too is a Canton product that never makes a sound of its own: no driver, no electronics, just a sturdy metal base with an elegant, satin finish. If you own a Smart Soundbox 3 or a Smart Libero and it's been sitting on the sideboard so far, the LS 40 gives it the matching plinth – built specifically for these two models, not as a universal stand for just any speaker.

Why the Canton LS 40?

Because a multiroom speaker on the sideboard rarely sits where it sounds best – usually too low, often too close to the wall. The LS 40 screws the speaker to a defined height designed for ear level while seated, turning a casual placement into a deliberate one. Cable routing runs concealed inside the stand column, leaving only the speaker itself visible.

What you get

A sturdy, low-vibration metal base with screw-thread mount, tailored exactly for the Smart Soundbox 3 and Smart Libero, plus concealed internal cable routing. The height is designed for relaxed seated listening, not for whatever corner it barely fits into.

Who is the Canton LS 40 for?

For owners of the Smart Soundbox 3 or the Smart Libero who want to place their speaker permanently instead of constantly repositioning it. Plain talk: the screw thread doesn't fit other Canton models or third-party speakers – for that, there's the more universal Basic LS or the LS 90.3. If you're mounting the speaker on a shelf anyway, you simply don't need this stand.

Our verdict

A stand with exactly one job, done right: bringing the Smart Soundbox 3 or Smart Libero permanently and securely to listening height. Not an off-the-shelf accessory, but a precisely matched addition. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we're happy to show you how much difference a few centimetres of height actually make to the sound.

Frequently asked questions

Which speakers fit the Canton LS 40?

Specifically the Canton Smart Soundbox 3 and the Smart Libero – the speaker is secured to the stand via a screw thread. This mount doesn't fit other models; for those, there are better-suited stands like the Basic LS.

What height does the LS 40 bring the speaker to?

92 cm stand height, designed for ear level while seated – ideal for a sofa or armchair. For standing use or a lower seat height, briefly check with us whether that suits your room.

Does the speaker cable run visibly?

No, the cable routing is concealed inside the stand column. Only the speaker on the base remains visible, with no loose cables on the floor.

Is the LS 40 supplied as a pair or individually?

With us, as a pair, for two Smart Soundbox 3 or Smart Libero units in stereo or multiroom use. It's also available individually on request – just ask us.

Why buy the Canton LS 40 from HD Zürisee?
