In listening tests the R-N600A plays confidently for its class, with punch in the bass and clean timing. Yamaha's ToP-ART construction and Pure Direct mode keep the signal path as short as possible.

MusicCast brings you Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, internet radio and multiroom – plus AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Roon Tested certification. The ESS SABRE ES9010K2M converts up to DSD 11.2 MHz and PCM 384 kHz. For vinyl there's an MM phono input on board, and an optical digital input for your TV.
Straight talk – what you should know
The R-N600A has no HDMI connection (that's only available from the R-N1000A upward) and no automatic YPAO room correction. If you want to connect your TV via HDMI-ARC or have the room measured automatically, you should look one level higher. But as a pure music receiver, it's hard to beat in this price class.
