The Yamaha NS-AW294 is the weatherproof 2-way outdoor speaker for terrace, garden or pool area – with plenty of punch thanks to its 16 cm woofer. Supplied as a pair including a swivel bracket.
The waterproof 16 cm cone delivers rich mids and a mature bass, while the 2.5 cm dome provides clear highs. Well protected against the weather: drip-, splash- and UV-resistant housing (IPx3) and a powder-coated metal grille.
Straight talk
The mid-size model in the AW range – a good compromise between level, bass and physical size for a normal terrace. It's not meant to be, and isn't, a full-fledged HiFi floorstanding speaker for the living room; but outdoors it performs confidently and without fuss. Mount it protected (under an eave), not in constant rain.

Frequently asked questions
How big can the terrace be?
A pair of NS-AW294 is plenty for a normal terrace or seating area. For very large areas, combine several pairs or choose the larger NS-AW592.
Do I need special outdoor speaker cable?
For outdoor use we recommend UV-resistant, outdoor-rated cable and protected connection points. We're happy to make this up for you to fit.
Are the speakers protected against the weather?
Yes, to IPx3 against drip and splash water as well as UV. Protected mounting extends the lifespan further.
Why buy the NS-AW294 from HD Zürisee?
Because we'll tell you honestly whether the mid-size AW model is enough for your terrace or whether the larger NS-AW592 brings more fullness. Since 1997 we've been advising on the right mounting under an eave or on the facade – you get that at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil too.
