Yamaha A-S701 – Powerful Integrated Amplifier with DAC
The A-S701 is the pinnacle of the ToP-ART entry-level series: more power, gold-plated connectors and a substantial build that clearly outperforms its price class. With a built-in DAC, MM phono and a powerful output stage, it's a durable all-rounder for vinyl, CD and TV sound.
Sound & Amplification
2× 100 W at 8 ohms (0.019% THD), with high dynamic headroom up to 290 W at 2 ohms – so it confidently drives larger and somewhat trickier speakers too. ToP-ART, ART Base chassis, a custom-made power transformer and gold-plated speaker and input terminals ensure low-loss, controlled playback. Pure Direct for the most direct signal path.
Digital & Sources
Optical and coaxial digital input with built-in DAC for your TV and Blu-ray player. MM phono input for your turntable, several line RCA inputs, A/B speaker terminals and stepless loudness. The optional YBA-11 Bluetooth adapter lets you add wireless streaming later.
Straight talk – what you should know
Streaming, Wi-Fi and USB are not built in – Bluetooth is only available via the optional YBA-11 adapter. If you want built-in network streaming, go for the R-N800A. The phono input is MM (not MC). For most living rooms the power is more than enough; the premium over the A-S501 is justified mainly by the extra power and the higher-quality connectors.
