The Vincent SV-237 MK II is a Class-A hybrid integrated amplifier that combines a tube preamp stage with a powerful transistor output stage, a built-in DAC and Bluetooth.
The third edition of Vincent's successful model, designed around a circuit by Frank Blöhbaum: two 6N1P NOS tubes give the sound warmth and naturalness, four transistors in the output stage provide the muscle. Through the illuminated porthole on the front you can watch the tube glow – kitschy? Maybe. Beautiful? Absolutely.
Why the Vincent SV-237 MK II?
Because it combines the magic of the tube with real power. In the preamp stage, the 6N1P tubes provide the round, polished tone that tubes are loved for; the transistor output stage delivers 2 × 150 watts at 8 ohms and 2 × 250 watts at 4 ohms – enough for large rooms and demanding speakers. The first 10 watts it plays in pure Class A, exactly where most music happens.
Add to that a tidy dual-mono layout with a large toroidal transformer, three high-level inputs, a DAC with coax and optical, Bluetooth 5.0 and two speaker pairs for bi-wiring. Honestly – a stereo setup rarely needs more amplifier than this.
What you get
- Class-A hybrid: tube preamp stage (circuit by Frank Blöhbaum, 6N1P NOS), transistor output stage, first 2 × 10 watts in pure Class A
- 2 × 150 watts at 8 ohms, 2 × 250 watts at 4 ohms – reserves for large rooms and demanding speakers too
- Built-in DAC (coaxial + optical, 24-bit/192 kHz) plus Bluetooth 5.0 – for TV, CD, streamer or phone
- Three analogue RCA high-level inputs, pre-out and rec-out, 6.3 mm headphone output (32–600 ohms)
- Two speaker pairs (bi-wiring capable), defeatable tone controls and loudness with bypass
- Dual-mono layout, large toroidal transformer, solid 20.4 kg chassis, illuminated tube porthole, remote control included
Who is the Vincent SV-237 MK II suited for?
For anyone looking for uncompromising, powerful stereo sound with tube character – even in larger rooms and with demanding speakers. If you like the warm, natural tone of the tube without giving up dynamics and power reserves, this is exactly right for you.
Honestly: it's not small or quiet – 20.4 kilos want a solid rack, and it gets warm in Class-A operation. You don't connect a turntable directly (no phono input, a separate phono stage is needed), and there's no USB, HDMI/eARC or real network streaming (Wi-Fi/LAN) – only Bluetooth works wirelessly. If you want a slim all-in-one with app streaming, a streaming integrated amplifier is the better fit.
Our verdict
The SV-237 MK II is a powerhouse with soul: the warmth of the tube, the reserves of a full-grown transistor amp, plus the fine Class-A touch in the first watts. An amplifier you buy and then don't want to give up for years. Reviews praise exactly this mix of dynamics, resolution and tube magic (review at likehifi.de).

Frequently asked questions
What does Class A mean on the Vincent SV-237 MK II?
The SV-237 MK II delivers the first 2 × 10 watts at 8 ohms in pure Class-A operation – exactly the range where most listening happens. Class A is considered especially clean and natural. Above that, it switches to Class AB and provides the full reserves. The unit gets noticeably warm doing so, which is normal.
What rooms and speakers is it intended for?
With 2 × 150 watts at 8 ohms and 2 × 250 watts at 4 ohms, the SV-237 MK II confidently drives even larger rooms from around 30 m² and power-hungry or demanding speakers. You can connect two speaker pairs, including for bi-wiring. We're happy to advise you on speaker choice.
Does the SV-237 MK II have a DAC and Bluetooth?
Yes. A DAC processes digital signals via the coaxial and optical input (24-bit/192 kHz), plus there's Bluetooth 5.0 for your phone. What's missing is USB as well as Wi-Fi or network streaming – for streaming, connect a separate streamer to one of the digital inputs.
Can I connect a turntable directly?
Not directly – the SV-237 MK II has no phono input. A separate phono stage belongs between turntable and amplifier. Vincent offers several models in the PHO series for this, and we're happy to help you choose the right one.
