ViaBlue QTC XL Spikes (Set of 4)

The ViaBlue QTC XL Spikes are the larger version of the QTC Spikes – for heavier floor-standing speakers and components that need more contact area under the tip.

The heavier a speaker or component, the more pressure acts on the single contact point of a spike. That's why the QTC XL comes with larger, 35-millimetre stainless steel washers than the regular QTC set – they spread the weight more generously and reliably protect sensitive floors even under heavy floor-standing speakers.

What you get

You place four XL spikes plus four large protective washers under your component without any screwing. As with the smaller QTC set, the tip concentrates the contact with the surface at a single point – the XL version just has more headroom for weight and area.

Who are the QTC XL Spikes suitable for?

Designed for heavy floor-standing speakers and bulky components where the regular QTC washer would reach its limits. For lighter bookshelf speakers or electronics, the standard QTC set is enough – there, you can save the extra cost of the XL version.

When should I choose QTC XL over the regular QTC Spikes?

For heavy floor-standing speakers or components where the regular washer would reach its load limit. The larger contact area of the XL washer spreads high weight more safely on sensitive floors.

Is the QTC XL also available in silver?

We currently carry the QTC XL Spikes in black. If you're looking for a light-coloured version, get in touch – we're happy to check whether ViaBlue can supply a silver version.

How does the XL washer differ from the regular one?

It has a diameter of 35 instead of 25 millimetres, spreading more weight over a larger area. The spike tip itself works on the same principle as the smaller QTC set.

Do I also need the XL version for heavy bookshelf speakers?

Usually not – bookshelf speakers typically stand on a stand and put less weight on each individual spike than a large floor-standing speaker. If in doubt, tell us the model and weight and we'll recommend the right size.
