The Technics SU-G700M2 is a Grand Class digital integrated amplifier with 2× 70 watts at 8 ohms, a built-in D/A converter and a full-featured phono input for MM and MC cartridges.
Digital sources, vinyl and TV sound come together in one device – precisely amplified and always in view via the large VU meters.
Why the SU-G700M2?
Because it takes Technics' digital amplification through to its logical conclusion. The JENO Engine re-clocks the signal and keeps jitter low, GaN-FET components switch very fast and cleanly. Then there's LAPC (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration): the amplifier measures your speakers and corrects the frequency and phase response for the actual load. The low-noise ASPS power supply provides the necessary calm and dynamics. In short, an integrated amplifier that unites digital sources, vinyl and TV in a single chassis.
What you hear
Control and honesty. The SU-G700M2 keeps a firm grip even on demanding speakers, notes stand solidly, dynamic jumps arrive without delay. After LAPC calibration, the sound image seems tidy and precise, without digital harshness. The phono stage for MM and MC brings vinyl to a serious level, and the headphone output with Class AA amplification drives even larger over-ears with confidence.
Who is the SU-G700M2 suited for? (and who it isn't – plain talk)
Plain talk: The SU-G700M2 is for anyone who wants a precise, honest amplifier with a DAC and a good phono input – for digital sources, turntables and TV sound in one device. Honestly: it's a digital amplifier and plays matter-of-fact and precise. Anyone looking for the warm, softening tube sound that papers over recording flaws is in the wrong place – the G700M2 shows poor recordings unvarnished. And at 428 mm deep it needs a decent sideboard: better measure twice.
Our verdict
A versatile Grand Class amplifier: fast, precise digital power stage, a solid DAC, genuine MM/MC phono and LAPC room correction. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we demonstrate it for you on your own speakers, calibrate it with LAPC and deliver the chain tuned.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an external DAC for the SU-G700M2?
No. The JENO Engine processes digital signals internally right through to the power stage. Whether it's a PC via USB-B or a TV via optical – the built-in converter performs at a high level and makes a separate DAC box unnecessary.
Is the phono input also suitable for MC cartridges?
Yes. The SU-G700M2 has an improved phono input with a switchable MM and MC stage. This lets you run both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges directly, without an additional external phono stage.
What does LAPC calibration achieve?
LAPC measures the impedance of your speakers and corrects the frequency and phase response for the real load. The result is a more stable, tidier sound image. On request, we carry out the calibration together with you right at delivery.
Why buy the SU-G700M2 at HD Zürisee?
Because an amplifier belongs with your speakers, not in a datasheet. We demonstrate it for you in Wädenswil, calibrate it with LAPC and deliver the chain tuned. Questions? Call us (+41 44 680 22 00), send an email or a WhatsApp message.
Goes well with
The SU-G700M2 harmonises with floorstanding speakers just as well as with bookshelf speakers. For vinyl, you pair it with a turntable and the right cartridge – it already brings the phono input.
