Technics SA-C600 + SB-C600 Hi-Fi Set, White (Set)

The Technics SA-C600 + SB-C600 set is a complete stereo system made up of a CD network receiver and a passive coaxial bookshelf speaker pair – the two components are matched to each other, so all you need is power, cables and your music.

In short: the Technics duo that belongs together – the SA-C600 delivers amplifier, streamer, CD, radio and phono, the SB-C600 turn it into sound. You save yourself a rack full of separate components.

Why this set?

Because the drive electronics and speakers come from the same hand and speak the same Technics language. The SA-C600 is a fully digital receiver with JENO Engine and a separate power supply – CD drive, MM phono, DAB+/FM and a full-featured streamer (AirPlay 2, Chromecast) are already built in. The SB-C600 answer with their coaxial driver: a 25 mm aluminium tweeter sitting in the middle of the 15 cm mid-woofer, both radiating from a single point. Matched instead of thrown together.

What you hear

A calm, cleanly localised sound with plenty of blackness between the notes. The SA-C600's separate power supply keeps voices stable and the bass dry, the SB-C600's coaxial driver delivers a coherent soundstage – even if you're not sitting exactly in the middle. With Space Tune you adapt playback to your room (freestanding, against the wall, on a shelf). For its size, a mature, relaxed sound that never tires you over hours.

Who is this set suited to? (and who it isn't – plain talk)

Plain talk: The SA-C600 + SB-C600 set is for anyone who wants a complete, compact hi-fi system from a single source – CD, vinyl, streaming and radio included, without a pile of devices and without hunting for speakers. If you want an all-in-one with built-in speakers, the SC-C70MK2 suits you better; if you already own an amplifier and floorstanding speakers, you don't need this set. But for an elegant, complete start on a shelf or on stands it's exactly right – the SB-C600 like a bit of room behind them and a firm footing.

Our verdict

A well thought-out complete set: plenty of Technics technology in the receiver, a clever coaxial speaker as its partner, every source on board. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we listen to the combination, tune it to your room and deliver the system matched and ready – with a turntable added on request.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the SA-C600 + SB-C600 set?
The Technics SA-C600 CD network receiver and a pair of Technics SB-C600 bookshelf speakers – so amplifier, streamer, CD, radio and phono plus the matching speakers. All you still need is speaker cable and your sources. A complete system from a single source.

Can I use a turntable and CDs directly?
Yes. The SA-C600 has a built-in CD drive and an MM phono stage – you connect a turntable with an MM cartridge directly, and you load CDs under the aluminium flap. An MC cartridge needs an additional phono stage; we'll show you the right solution.

Does the set work without a streaming subscription?
Yes. CD, DAB+/FM radio, internet radio, vinyl and local network files all work with no subscription at all. Services like Spotify or TIDAL are an option, not a requirement – the set is a pleasure even without them.

Do the SB-C600 need stands?
They fit on a shelf, but they play at their best on stable stands or a solid sideboard with a bit of room behind them. We'll advise you on placement in your room so the soundstage sits right.

Why buy the SA-C600 + SB-C600 set from HD Zürisee?
Because matched delivers more than bought separately: we listen to the duo, sort out the placement and integrate your turntable on request. As an experienced specialist team, we deliver the system ready to go. Questions? Call us (+41 44 680 22 00), send an email or a WhatsApp.

Goes well with

For vinyl, you plug a turntable directly into the MM phono stage, plus a clean phono cable. Between the receiver and the speakers you need decent speaker cables – we'll show you what fits.
