The Sonoro Maestro Quantum is an all-in-one streaming integrated amplifier that combines network streaming, a slot-in CD player, DAB+/internet radio, an MM phono input and a powerful Class D power stage with 2 × 110 W (at 8 Ω) in a single housing.
In other words: a complete hi-fi chain in one unit – streamer, DAC, amplifier, CD player and phono preamp. Add speakers, and the system is complete. No tower of devices, no cable chaos, no afternoon with the manual.
Why the Maestro Quantum?
Because it brings the versatility of a large system into a living-room-friendly format – without sonic compromise. The Hypex Class D power stages deliver 2 × 110 W at 8 Ω (2 × 180 W at 4 Ω), while the ESS SABRE converter handles the fine resolution. Sources? Practically everything: CD, vinyl via MM phono, DAB+, FM, internet radio, plus Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon Music, Roon Ready, AirPlay and Chromecast. You control it via the 4-inch colour display, the sonoro app or the remote. Visually typical sonoro: hand-sanded wood housing, laser-cut aluminium front, full-metal knobs – this version in Matte White with a silver front.
What you hear
A mature, controlled stereo sound with reserves for demanding speakers. The Class D concept stays clean and cool even at volume, and the ESS SABRE DAC renders voices and detail with precision. The real ace up its sleeve is DIRAC Live room correction: it measures your room and irons out boominess and cancellations – "sounds okay" becomes "sounds the way it was meant to". With sonoro speakers, matching equalizer presets and the Dynamic Bass function kick in too.
Who is the Maestro Quantum right for?
For anyone who wants a full-fledged, high-quality stereo system but only has room and appetite for a single device – plus a pair of speakers. Ideal if CD collection, turntable and streaming all need to come under one roof. Plain talk: if you already own a separate high-end pre-/power-amp chain and swap individual components deliberately, you're more flexible with separates – the Maestro Quantum plays to its strength as a complete system. It doesn't need active speakers, by the way; it wants passive speakers (4–16 Ω).
Our verdict
A well thought-out all-rounder for anyone after high-end functionality without a rack wall: ESS SABRE DAC, Hypex power stages, DIRAC, CD, phono and pretty much every streaming service with a name. If you want a complete system in the smallest possible space, the Maestro Quantum is one of the most elegant answers – just add speakers, done.
What the press says: "The Sonoro Maestro Quantum is a real multi-talent, performing as confidently as its looks already promise." – hifitest.de, issue 5/2024 (sound 5/5, overall rating "top class").

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate amplifier or streamer too?
No. The Maestro Quantum is a complete system in one housing: streamer, DAC, integrated amplifier, CD player and phono preamp are all built in. You just need a pair of passive speakers and some music – whatever source you like, from vinyl to streaming.
Which speakers suit it?
Passive speakers with 4 to 16 Ω. With 2 × 110 W at 8 Ω, it confidently drives even larger floorstanding speakers. sonoro models are perfectly matched via equalizer preset, but it pairs well with almost any good speaker. We're happy to help you figure out what suits your room.
Does the Maestro Quantum support Qobuz, Tidal and Roon?
Yes. On board are TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Deezer, Amazon Music and Roon Ready, plus AirPlay and Chromecast. It's also enjoyable entirely without a streaming subscription – via CD, turntable (MM phono), DAB+ and internet radio.
What does DIRAC Live room correction do?
DIRAC Live measures your room with a microphone and corrects boominess, peaks and cancellations. The result: a cleaner, more neutral sound that's shaped less by the room and more by the music – especially effective in tricky living spaces.
Can I connect my turntable?
Yes, a turntable with a moving-magnet cartridge can be connected directly via the gold-plated MM phono input – no external phono preamp needed. MC cartridges would need an additional preamp. We're happy to advise you on the right combination.
