The Sonoro Orchestra Slim are especially slim 2-way bass-reflex compact speakers with an Air Motion Transformer in a wave guide. They're for anyone who wants clear, precise stereo sound in small to medium-sized rooms, without the speakers standing out visually.

Why the Orchestra Slim?

Because they bring hi-fi sound into an unusually narrow silhouette. The AMT embedded in a wave guide delivers silky highs, while the 5.25-inch mid-bass driver provides clean mids and bass. The rearward-sloping baffle and offset AMT improve timing and instrument imaging – you can hear exactly where each instrument sits. The HDF cabinet with internal bracing and non-parallel walls keeps resonances low.

What you hear and get

A surprisingly spacious soundstage and precise imaging from a compact, elegant pair. Flush-mounted drivers with no visible screws, magnetic fabric covers and aluminium details make them a subtle eye-catcher. The high-quality screw terminal guarantees a clean connection to the amplifier. Paired with the Sonoro Maestro (Quantum), they form a compact complete system that won't overwhelm even a small living room.

Who are the Orchestra Slim suited for – and who aren't they for?

Ideal for small to medium-sized rooms and anyone looking for slim bookshelf speakers with genuine hi-fi credentials. They need 50–140 watts at 4 ohms. Honest take: for big deep bass in large rooms, they're too compact – that's when you reach for the Orchestra Gen. 2 or the Shaped Signature. But for clear, finely resolved sound in a tight space, the Slim are exactly right.

Our verdict

Slim bookshelf speakers with AMT treble and clean timing – the space-saving companion to the Maestro. Tell us how big your room is and which amplifier you have, and we'll find the right Orchestra variant for you. Frequently asked questions

Are the Orchestra Slim sold individually or as a pair?

The price is per pair – both speakers arrive together in one delivery, including covers and plugs. For classic stereo, you need exactly this pair.

What's the difference to the Orchestra Gen. 2?

The Slim are slimmer and more compact (5.25-inch driver, 45 Hz lower limit), while the Gen. 2 are somewhat larger with a 6-inch driver and deeper bass (39 Hz). For small rooms and maximum discretion, choose the Slim; for more foundation, choose the Gen. 2.

Do they need stands?

Ideally the tweeters sit at ear height – on the matching Orchestra Stand, a sturdy shelf or other stands. A bit of distance from the rear wall keeps the bass controlled and opens up the soundstage.

Why buy the Sonoro Orchestra Slim at HD Zürisee?
