The Sonoro Platinum Automatic EAS is a semi-automatic belt-drive turntable with a built-in phono preamp, Bluetooth (aptX HD) and USB digitisation. It's made for everyone who loves vinyl but doesn't want to give up today's comfort – and for everyone setting a needle in the groove for the very first time.
Why the Platinum Automatic EAS?
Because it takes care of the two most annoying moments of a vinyl evening. The "EAS" stands for automatic end shut-off: once the side is finished, a motorised lift gently raises the tonearm out of the run-out groove and stops the platter. So you no longer have to dash across the living room just because the last track has faded out. On top of that comes a factory-fitted Ortofon 2M Red – exactly the cartridge that elsewhere tends to show up as a costly extra on the invoice. Set it up, put on the belt, listen.
What you hear and get
A clear, lively sound that outplays its price class. The quiet DC motor with optical speed control keeps the tempo clean, and the height-adjustable tonearm with two precision bearings guides the needle smoothly through the groove. Via the switchable phono preamp you can connect the Platinum to any high-level input – or wirelessly via Bluetooth aptX HD to active speakers. And if you want to preserve your collection, you transfer it straight to your computer via USB. A turntable that plays analogue and has still arrived in the present.
Who is the Platinum Automatic EAS suited for – and who isn't it for?
Ideal for beginners and for vinyl listeners who want enjoyment without fiddling. Straight talk: if you're chasing the very last drop of resolution and like experimenting with heavier platters, tonearm tuning and separate high-end phono stages, this is deliberately not for you – it's a comfort turntable, not a tinkerer's project. It doesn't play shellac at 78 rpm. For relaxed everyday vinyl enjoyment, though, it's hard to beat.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Platinum Automatic EAS come with a cartridge?
Yes, an Ortofon 2M Red (MM, elliptical) comes factory-fitted and aligned. You just put on a record and start playing – no separate purchase, no fiddly setup. Later on, the cartridge can be swapped for other styli or systems from the Ortofon 2M series if you like.
Do I need a separate phono preamp?
No. An MM phono stage is built in and switchable. So you can connect the Platinum to any normal high-level input (AUX/Line) on your amplifier or active speakers. If you already have an external phono stage, simply switch off the internal one.
Can I digitise my records with it?
Yes, via the USB port with built-in A/D converter you transfer records straight to your computer or laptop. That way you preserve your collection as files. A quick practical tip: for very bass-heavy 12-inch singles, check the level beforehand so nothing clips.
Does the turntable also work wirelessly?
Yes, via Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX HD you can play on Bluetooth active speakers, headphones or amplifiers. Handy for flexible placement. For the best sound quality, the classic RCA connection remains the top choice – you're free to use either.
