Ruark Audio HiFi Set R710 + Talisman-R

The Ruark Audio HiFi Set R710 + Talisman-R pairs the R710 CD streaming console with the passive Talisman-R floorstanding speaker to form a complete stereo system – amplifier and speakers from the same house, matched to each other, in four freely combinable colour options.

One unit, one pair of speakers, and the system is complete. The R710 streams, plays CDs, and takes in your turntable and TV – the Talisman-R translate all of that into sound, with British understatement and an angled baffle. All that's missing is your sofa.

Why as a set?

Because power and speakers aren't thrown together here, but thought through together. The R710 delivers 2×200W into 4Ω – around 130–150W of that reaches the 6-ohm Talisman-R, sitting comfortably within their recommended window of 50 to 250 watts. No pondering damping factor or headroom, no second glance at the datasheet. The roughly 3m speaker cable is already included with the R710, and a pair of cartons becomes a system. And because we buy the amplifier and speakers together, we pass that on to you: bought separately, the R710 and Talisman-R together cost CHF 4180.–, in the set you pay CHF 3980.– – CHF 200.– less for the exact same pair of components.

What's in the set?

The Ruark R710 is a CD streaming console from the 100 Series: a streaming integrated amplifier with slot-loading CD drive and built-in MM phono stage, plus Spotify/Tidal/Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth aptX HD, internet radio, and HDMI ARC/eARC for your TV. Control is via Ruark's RotoDial or the remote control.

Added to that is a pair of Ruark Talisman-R floorstanding speakers: a passive 2-way system with a 27mm silk dome tweeter, 17cm NS+ long-throw driver, and a decoupled, angled baffle – Ruark's 1990 design icon, engineered in 2026.

You choose both components independently in Black (Satin Charcoal) or Walnut (Fused Walnut) – even mixed, in case amplifier and speakers should match different pieces of furniture.

Who's this set for? (and who isn't it for)

Ideal for anyone who wants a fully-featured, design-forward system without the component puzzle: streaming, CD, vinyl and TV sound from one console, plus floorstanding speakers with visibly British character for a living or music room. If you're short on floor space, a set of R710 and the more compact Ruark Sabre-R serves you better. And if you already own an amplifier or speakers, buy the missing component separately instead of the set.

Our verdict

This set takes the guesswork off your hands: a console with plenty of power, a speaker that matches it, and a price that's cheaper than buying separately. If you want a complete Ruark system without calculating watts against ohms yourself, this is the right place. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we put the set together to suit your room and set everything up.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine R710 and Talisman-R in different colours within the set?
Yes. Both colour options can be chosen independently – Black and Walnut can also be mixed, in case amplifier and speakers should match different pieces of furniture.

Is the R710's power enough for the Talisman-R?
Yes. The R710 delivers 2×200W into 4Ω, and around 130–150W of that reaches the 6-ohm Talisman-R – which sits comfortably within Ruark's recommended window of 50 to 250 watts.

Do I still need a speaker cable?
Not necessarily. The R710 already comes with around 3m of speaker cable, which is enough for most setups. For longer distances or a wish for higher cable quality, we're happy to advise you on alternatives.

Can I replace or add one of the two components separately later?
Yes, the R710 and Talisman-R remain available individually. The set is worthwhile if you're buying both components new – if you already own one, just order the missing one separately.
