The Roksan Attessa turntable is a belt-drive turntable with a unipivot tonearm, a factory-fitted Roksan Dana MM cartridge and a switchable MM phono stage.

Unpack it, adjust the counterweight, drop the needle – done: the Attessa brings audiophile unipivot technology in an everyday-friendly plug-and-play package. For anyone who takes vinyl seriously but doesn't want to earn a doctorate in tonearm geometry.

Why the Attessa turntable?

Unipivot tonearms balance on a single point and are considered the special something for openness and dynamics – but usually also fiddly territory reserved for pros. Roksan has packaged this technology so it operates almost like an ordinary gimbal bearing, while keeping its sonic nimbleness. The electronically controlled belt drive switches between 33 and 45 rpm at the press of a button – no moving the belt by hand. The heavy 10 mm glass platter with felt mat provides steady, stable rotation.

The Roksan Dana cartridge (moving magnet) is factory-fitted and aligned, and the switchable MM phono stage is already built in – so you can connect the turntable to virtually any amplifier or active speaker, with no extra box needed.

What you hear

The Attessa plays open, nimble and with fine resolution. On vocals and acoustic music the unipivot arm shows its strength: vocals stand clear and intimate in the room, small details remain audible. Hi-Fi Choice awarded the Attessa "Recommended" status in 2022. On a stable, level surface and with a bit of distance from the speakers, it gains even more precision.

Who is the Attessa turntable right for?

Ideal for you if you want design and sound without a long technical study, and you want a turntable that just runs. Straight talk: the unipivot arm feels a bit more mobile when you lower it than a classic gimbal bearing – that's by design and completely normal. Anyone looking for a rugged workhorse for rough DJ handling is better off elsewhere; the Attessa is a precision instrument for connoisseurs.

Our verdict

Here at our Wädenswil store, the Attessa is our first recommendation for anyone who wants a stylish, honest turntable that's dialed in from the factory yet still plays audiophile. A turntable that takes the technology off your hands and leaves you the music.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set up the cartridge myself?

No. The Roksan Dana cartridge is fitted and aligned to the tonearm at the factory. You just attach the counterweight as instructed and set the tracking force. That gets you ready to play in a few minutes, with no alignment tools or experience needed.

Can I connect the Attessa to active speakers or a Sonos?

Yes. Thanks to the built-in MM phono stage, you connect it directly to the line input of active speakers or a Sonos device. A separate phono input on the target device isn't necessary. If your amplifier already has phono, you simply switch off the internal stage.

What speeds does the turntable support?

33 and 45 revolutions per minute, electronically switchable at the press of a button. So you don't need to move the drive belt by hand. That lets you play both LPs and most singles comfortably.

Can the cartridge be replaced later?

Yes. The Dana is a standard MM cartridge and can later be replaced with a new stylus or a different cartridge. That keeps the turntable growing with your standards over time. We're happy to help with selection and fitting.
