The Roksan Attessa integrated amplifier combines 80 watts per channel, an MM phono stage and a Burr-Brown DAC in a purely analogue power amp design.
British engineering without any frills: a fat toroidal transformer, a solid steel-and-aluminium chassis, and a single control wheel instead of a whole wall of buttons. If you want powerful, honest amplification and would rather handle streaming separately, this is exactly right for you.
Why the Attessa integrated amplifier?
Roksan has been building amplifiers since 1985 that sound more like substance than marketing – and the Attessa carries that line on consistently. The large toroidal transformer delivers stable power even when the music suddenly gets loud: bass stays tight, dynamics stay in command. It's operated via a single, high-quality control wheel – a small tactile pleasure, and pleasantly unfussy in a world full of flashing displays.
Through the MaestroUnite app you install firmware updates and match input sensitivity so CD, TV and turntable all play back at roughly the same volume. An MM phono stage is already on board – so the turntable goes straight into the rack, with no extra box needed.
What you hear
The Attessa takes firm hold of your speakers. Its high damping factor – the ability to stop the cone cleanly – means even larger floorstanders don't turn woolly. Voices stand clearly in the room, drums land with punch, and on dynamic recordings the amplifier keeps its composure at all times. The built-in Burr-Brown converter (up to 24-bit / 192 kHz) turns the sound of a TV, PC or CD player into something glass-clear. Bluetooth with aptX is on hand for a quick playlist in between.
Who is the Attessa integrated amplifier for?
Ideal for you if you feed your sources by cable – CD, turntable, TV or an existing streamer – and want a long-lasting, purely analogue power amp. Straight talk: if you expect Wi-Fi streaming built directly into the amp, you're better served by the Attessa Streaming integrated amplifier. This one is the purist powerhouse for anyone who deliberately keeps the network out of the picture.
Our verdict
Here in Wädenswil, the Attessa is the honest workhorse: cool, quiet, controlled – with reserves it never shows off loudly. If you want an uncomplicated, powerful stereo amplifier with phono and a DAC, you'll do little wrong with this one.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Roksan Attessa integrated amplifier have a phono stage?
Yes, an MM phono stage is built in. You connect a turntable with a moving-magnet cartridge directly, with no separate preamp needed. For moving-coil cartridges you'll need an additional MC module. That saves rack space and keeps the signal path nice and short.
Can I connect my TV to the Attessa?
Yes. Through the optical or coaxial digital inputs, the built-in DAC converts the TV sound. That gives noticeably more speech clarity and dynamics than a TV's internal speakers. One optical cable from the TV is all you need to get started.
Can the Attessa integrated amplifier stream?
Not on its own – this is the purely analogue model with no network. Streaming runs through an external streamer on the line or digital input, or via Bluetooth. If you want streaming built in, go for the Attessa Streaming integrated amplifier from the same range.
How powerful is the amplifier for my speakers?
With 80 watts at 8 ohms and 130 watts at 4 ohms, it drives the vast majority of bookshelf and floorstanding speakers with ease. The high damping factor keeps the bass controlled. For very large rooms or particularly power-hungry speakers, we're happy to advise on the right combination.
